[The planet mostly sucks. Toph discovers that their first day on the ground. She likes the outside, but thanks to stupid people and their mess ups or whatever, she can't leave without a weird thing on her face.

She figures if she's miserable, so are her friends. Allowing one to pick her mask out for her seems a good way to kill time. Narrowing it down to who is an easy process: Zuko was never an option, she already helped Sokka kidnap a robot, and Allen's got a horrible sense of style (so she's heard). That only leaves one candidate.]

Katara, are we almost there?

2) - [Do what you want]

[I'm not creative. Go wild.]

Mmh. I can see one of the shops now.

[ and honestly? maybe toph was blind, but katara was still a little touched when she'd asked her to help her pick out a mask. :') ]

So you're seriously not afraid I'm going to pick out the ugliest one I can find for you?

[ she isn't, but still: she can't resist teasing a little. ]

[Toph means it. An ugly mask means nothing to her. And anyone who laughs will just gets a face full of dirt.

Blech. I'd choose ugly over that. Don't make me wear anything with sparkles. I've heard they're horrible.

Let me guess: Zuko told you that?

[Toph leans into Katara's half hug thing with only a small noise of protest.]

Sparkles can be, um. Fun. And we all know Zuko's allergic to fun, so...

He is. Maybe Allen and The Crusher can find a cure. Then we can drag him out with us.

[Finally, they approach the shop. Once they stop, Toph waits for Katara to take the lead.]

So I have no idea what's where. Make sure I don't run into too many things.

I don't think it'd work. He'd probably just explode.

[ she navigates toph around the shop, definitely a little protective as they round corners. ]

Hmm... I'm not really seeing anything that screams you just yet.

In a fiery ball of honor. Someone else can send Azula our condolences.

[Toph just lets herself be steered, full able to trust in her guide-katara..]

Fancy that-- neither am I.

Very funny.

[ she pauses, picking up one of the masks and turning it over in her hands. she passes it to toph. ]

Feel this? [ quietly, she adds: ] And maybe Azula can be the one who explodes in a fiery ball of honor.

[She takes it regardless, turning it over in her hands.] Maybe. But that would require honor.

You're gonna be the one wearing it on your face - you might as well make sure you like the way it feels.

[ it's a simple mask - smooth, and almost looks as if it were carved out of stone. ]
