[She doesn't so much see him as feel him, lurking there in the shadow of the forest. Something ain't right about him and it makes her uneasy. As she continues down river, she keeps glancing over at him suspiciously, like she's expecting him to do something to stop her. But she just keeps going, fish by fish, step by step.

It's exhausting work, though. Eventually, she will have to rest, and she comes to sit cross-legged on the banks of the river.]

[he definitely gives off that ain't right vibe, no doubt about it. it doesn't help that he absolutely keeps watching her as she moves down the river, even when it becomes obvious that she knows he's there.

when he's finally called out, he raises his beaked face in attention. after a moment of thought, he calls back... he sounds like a normal human, but that doesn't count for much.]
