I am from Earth. Very early in Earth's history, according to this place.

Okay, I'll stick with you, then! [He seems really nice. And he's cute. Though she's trying to be very conscientious about all the lecturing she got from North back in the day, stuff like, Wrath you can't just hit on people from earlier in history, it makes them feel uncomfortable. So she's trying very hard to not be weird.

She snaps her fingers and gives Officer Snuggles another little hand signal, so he'll follow along.]

Wow, Earth. That's so cool! I'm from Zeus, and I've never been to Earth ever. Um. If it helps, the current year for me is 3162. What's Earth like?

[ Zeus? The Greek God? It seems the naming of planets hasn't changed by much, save for the pantheon used. Or perhaps Jupiter was renamed. ]

Earth? Well, it's fairly unremarkable planet to most. We have a lot of water and greenery, forests and deserts. Almost every kind of ecological system resides on Earth. It's rich in animal and plant life and we've barely touched the surface.

[Named for the number of ways that planet has tried to fuck the humans.]

But you can go outside whenever you want and see the sunsets, right? The atmosphere is still good. It sounds... really beautiful. I've seen pictures, but pictures are never as good as the real thing.

Ah . . . yes. We can. Anyone can do that.

You're so lucky.

We used to be able to. I think? But now the terraforming's all FUBAR so the air is toxic and there's these poor bastards that have been turned into monsters by the dysthrophic plague that try to eat you anyway.

Yes. We're certainly fortunate, in many ways.

We had a big war, but it was only cold for part of the time. I don't know if the weather would have helped though.

But hopefully yours gets better? Though it must have, because there's a ton of colonies, and Earth was still around the last time we heard from it. So that's good, right?

Well, our war is mostly over and I don't think colonies will happen in the near future. At least, not for a long time.

That's good! The majority of your population is still alive. You'll get there. I... don't remember when the colonies started, but you might get to see it. [History is really hard when you can't really remember anything before your seventeenth birthday.]

So I'm glad things are getting better for you on Earth.

[axiomed]

I am very fortunate.

[ In so many ways. ] We still have a long way to go, but I have faith we'll make it through.

What's your favorite thing about Earth?

[axiomed]

[ That was a hard question. He took a lot of things on Earth for granted, and even when he parted from it, he always assumed it would be still there. ]

I don't know for sure. I've never given it much thought. I've always liked my gardens.

Gardens are so neat! I wanted to try to have a garden when I got my house. I just... didn't have time for it. Like figuring out how to make it work with the back and all. But growing things... that's such a beautiful thing to do.

I liked sunsets best about Zeus. Before the dome closed.

Can't you do it on the Iskaulit? They do have nice gardens there, albeit artificially maintained.

It'd be really cool. I'm supposed to be taking it easy right now, til Dr. Crusher fixes my back, but after that maybe I can! There's so much cool stuff over on the Iskaulit now... I've got my mural, but I haven't gotten to work on it in a while.

I'd be happy to help you with it, though I'm afraid my abilities in that area are limited.

I don't know anything about plants at all since that was never my job, so we can learn together! That'll be so much fun. [Grin.] You have really good ideas.
