[Poe just got shuffled here, so he wants to take time to familiarize himself with the ship and the shuttles--and the crew, of course! He's a friendly guy, so he's happy to shoot the shit with anyone.

He wants to take the ship itself on a few short flights, try out some maneuvers, check the top speed, all that. And with the shuttles as well. Anyone want to go on a run with him?]

B: Games

[He's up for some team sports, actually, even if it's kind of weird to get dragged into them randomly. Less in to getting handed a foam bat and being told he needs to have it out with someone he's never even met before.

But hey, maybe it's a way to get to know some people? He's ambivalent about paintball at first, but once he gets in to it, he seems to be having way too much fun.]

C: Anything you want

[Not much of a clothes horse himself, but if you want to drag him shopping, he's happy to carry some bags and have fun. Really, Poe's just in everything right now to try to relax and decompress. He's had a stressful life recently. And even if there's the nagging feeling that he really needs to be back and flying for the Resistance, there's nothing he can do about it right now--so he's going to treat this like some long overdo leave.]

[ If he wants to take the helm of the ship, inevitably, that will bring him to the bridge at some point. Which is where Hera is. Fortunately, she's generally aware that there are a couple newcomers to her ship, or at least she can infer it by his appearance.

[ That gets her eyebrows up a little, and she looks at him more closely. First of all, having him treat her like a person instead of a zoo exhibit is a bit of a relief, and possibly says something about the world he came from - at least, it suggests that he's used to the sight of nonhumans.

And he's a pilot? Interesting. ]

Will we? Did they finally send me someone qualified for the job? [ Her tone is curious, rather than suspicious. ] Do you mind if I ask you about your experience? A lot of people around here with pilot augments have never flown in space before.

[He grins.] Oh, then let me take it from the top. Commander Poe Dameron, Republic Starfleet, currently leader of Black X-wing Squadron for the Resistance. I'm the best pilot they have, and there's nothing I can't fly.

[ The words are very familiar, though they don't correspond exactly to what Hera knows. Her first thought is that he's from her world, but a different time. Probably earlier, what with his use of the word Republic, but it's enough to pique her interest - and offer a little information of her own. ]

Hm. I'm Captain of the Ghost, and Phoenix Squadron leader - Rebel Alliance.

[ She says that carefully, almost as though checking to see if any of that pings him. ]

I haven't heard of any battle on Endor, so... future, I guess. I'm from about twenty years after the end of the Clone Wars.

Okay. [Give him a minute to do some mental math.] So that puts me about... thirty-five years in your future, I think.

Hm. You're much farther in the future than anyone else I've met. Interesting. [ She tilts her head a little. ]

Are you a Jedi, too?

A friend of mine is around here, Finn. Same year as me.

What? No. When I'm from, there's only one Jedi even left, and he's who knows where. I'm just a pilot, nothing special about that. [Grin.] Though I'm a really good pilot.

[Member 2 of the 'wasn't sure about paintball but now having a blast' club over here. At some point the two of them end up back-to-back because it's chaos, honestly, and Sorey is still learning his way around gun-shaped things so he tends to forget that these things only shoot in a straight line. WHY CAN'T HE HAVE A PAINT SWORD OR SOMETHING JFC]

Oh- Hi! [Definitely not sure if this guy is on his team. Are there teams? Is this a battle royale? Look he doesn't even go to this school ok] Hey so, would you be interested in an alliance against the other guys? [THRUSTS OUT HAND, yup, let's truce this shit up, stranger]

Sounds great. [Firm handshake, grin.] Poe Dameron. Let's do this.

[He raises his gun for a quick shot to take someone out.] I break right, you break left?

Got it! [It's pretty clear instruction and Poe's good, sure with the gun where Sorey's not, but Sorey's pretty familiar with a battlefield all the same. They do pretty well but Sorey's just not use to their weapons of choice, and eventually he gets taken out by a sneak attack and has to lie on the ground and play dead.] Gah-! I'm so sorry- Avenge me, Mr. Dameron!

[They're in the middle of "battle" but he'll still take a second for the drama, since it's not an actual real battle and he's allergic to being too serious.]

Noooooooo! [FEEL the manpain.]

You bastards! You're all going down!

[He snaps off a good shot on the guy who got Sorey, and then takes out a couple more, but then goes down himself, riddled with paintballs. He flops over near Sorey.]

I... tried... but we gave 'em hell, buddy... [Dramatic death gurgle.]

[Yeah it's fun to goof around like this when nobody's actually in danger of dying. Sorey 'painfully' rolls over and reaches out a fist toward Poe, trembling with all the drama of their unfortunate demises.]

Poe Dameron...I couldn't ask for a more noble friend in life...or in death. Blehhh. [Tongue out and everything.

...Sorey get the fuck up, everybody's done and leaving. You ham.]

[Look at these two bros reaching for each other in death, never able to bridge it. It's like a holovid. Poe is having a hell of a time not giggling. Corpses shouldn't grin like that.]

Oh geez, right- [Sorey accepts his hand and jumps up, dusting himself off. They've both still got paint spatters all over them, but Sorey forks over his rifle to the guy who'd shoved it into his hands and turns to Poe eagerly.] That was great! We really worked well together! Wanna go get something to eat, Mr. Dameron?

[Poe hands his rifle over as well, and the paint-spattered goggles.]

Hell yeah, that was great. [Warm, brief shoulder scream.] Sure thing! And please, just call me Poe. Can't get formal with a guy you've died with.

That's true. We've experienced something incredible together; we both miraculously survived dying! This definitely calls for celebration.

I saw this neat place nearby that was making this sort of meat on a stick thing. Wanna get some meat on a stick?

Meat on a stick sounds like the furthest thing from protein plop on a plastic tray. Sign me up. [Military rations. Yikes. Hopefully it's not too expensive, though. He's new so he doesn't have much in the way of credits.

I'm a pilot, and I've been on a bunch of different bases for... years. It's all mess hall food or rations in the cockpit of an X-Wing. This real food thing... a guy could get used to it.
