[ it'll be a few days after coming into range of the star system that tadashi messages nanako. ugh - the air was awful and he's taking pains to spend as little time as possible planetside. he's sure he's not the only one going stir-crazy. ever the big brother, he decides that he might as well check on people while he can.

the correspondence is voice, and definitely friendly: ]

Hey, Nanako - it's Tadashi. Remember me?

[ he is most definitely not the only one going stir-crazy, for sure. but the good (??) thing is that she's used to staying inside most of the time anyway back in inaba, so the voluntary confinement doesn't bother her too much.

she's in the middle of reorganizing the lab on the three twins when she gets a message, face lighting up with excited surprise when she sees who it's from. ]

Hi Tadashi- [ san? senpai? niichan? what the heck does she call him. ] san! I do remember you!

[ hard to forget the boyfriend of her surrogate older sister, after all. ]

[ anything she wants to, honestly. :') he smiles at her greeting, glad that she seems to be in high spirits, at least. ]

I'm doing well. Do have kind of a problem, though, was hoping you might be able to help me out.

[ she sounds a little confused, if only because she automatically assumes that he'd request the help of someone older than her. but that fades rather quickly; it's always been her nature to help people whenever she can. ]

I'm fine, I promise. But I bought a couple of games when I was down on the planet, and Ino and Hiro are both too busy to play with me.

[ it'd probably be easy to be patronizing here, but tadashi somehow manages to avoid it. ]

[ it manages to come out both chiding and relieved once he says it. here she was expecting him to have a serious problem! she was all prepared to throw on her big girl clothes and help him.

[ he has so many middle names!! he had no idea.

but he casts a glance over his own shoulder, before lifting the communicator to reveal a small stack of boxed up board games. it seemed like the best way to spend his money on this particular planet, honestly. they're all.... strategy.... but there are some geared toward younger kids. ]

So? Help me figure out how to play them?

[ she'll have to help him come up with some for hiro later. ]

Do you want me to come over to your ship? I don't mind.

[ SHOULD SHE BE DRIVING A SHUTTLE ON HER OWN... he practically lives on the three twins anyway. ]

It's okay, I can come meet you! They taught me about the autopilot function for the shuttles!

[ she's saluting the communicator even though he can't see it.

anyway, about ten or fifteen minutes later, she shows up on the ship armed with a container of cookies she made with ino earlier. it's only fair to bring something when someone invites you to their house! or, ship, in this case.

she pokes her head around the door to the medbay soon enough, glancing around for him. ]

Tadashi-san...?

[ tadashi glances up from where he's seated, cross-legged, on the floor, hunched over a board and two dozen oddly shaped little cardboard tokens.

he's a pretty smart guy, but he is. weirdly. perplexed... by all of this. ]

I think they forgot to include the rules with this one...

[ that's a lot of cardboard tokens. nanako goes over, setting the container on the counter before joining him on the floor. ]

They didn't have the paper thing with it?

[ the instructions, she means. ]

Nope. [ he looks up at her with a helpless little grin, shrugging one shoulder. ] Gonna have to make up our own game, I guess.
