first one to make that doctor who joke loses

Who: Everyone! All of you!
Broadcast: Maybe!
Action: Definitely!
When: Anytime during the toxic moon event!

[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

here's the main event info post for reference! have fun!]

[ The room's starting to look a little crowded. ]

Perhaps we should save this for the lab.
beathach: it was more than all your laws allow (⚛ 015)

[it's a full minute before Hank registers what he says and pauses, looking up]

What?
axiomed: (I was on a downslide)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-15 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[ Patiently. ]

I said perhaps we should save this for the lab.
beathach: i can barely recall (⚛ 010)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-15 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh - yes, probably. [he leans back and takes off his glasses, giving them a look before he pockets them] Sorry, I got caught up in it.
axiomed: (I couldn't give it all again)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-15 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's fine. I can understand that.

But we should probably discuss what we know so far.
beathach: but then they'd always seemed right (⚛ 018)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-15 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
[he sets everything aside, so the potential distraction isn't there]

Mm, we probably should. [he tilts his head] Where should we start? [since there's certainly a lot]
axiomed: (Remind me of how I used to feel)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-15 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
I want to think about manipulating the augment instead of removing it.
beathach: it was more than all your laws allow (⚛ 015)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-15 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Er.

[well, that's a starting point. Hank drags a hand down his face.

This is definitely not something he's discussing out loud]

That sounds like a very bad, very dangerous idea.
axiomed: (The games the fun)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-15 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
We can't remove it. There must be a way to change the software or disrupt the signal.
beathach: but then they'd always seemed right (⚛ 018)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-15 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Changing the software would require someone writing a program that could override the augment's encoding. And that's only if it behaves like traditional software. [he rubs at his face again, then shifts to prop his head on his chin, elbow on his knee. He's thinking about it]

As for the signal, we'd have to figure out what sort of signal is being transmitted. And then - figuring out exactly what the best method would be to block it.

Though honestly, before either of those can be seriously considered - does anyone know what the entire augment looks like?
axiomed: (Wasting my days)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-15 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Then maybe that's where we should start. Can't we get an x-ray of it? Surely something in the lab would allow that.
beathach: there were things I'd never do again (⚛ 019)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-15 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
[the claws on his free hand start drumming against the floor, his brows furrowed] That . . . should be possible, yes. At the very least, it'd show us the size and where it connects to.

[a long, considering pause]

We might not need an x-ray machine. But - that's something I would have to look into first.
axiomed: (What brought us to this)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-15 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ He considers prodding, but dismisses it. ]

All right. The more we know about it, the better.
beathach: but then they'd always seemed right (⚛ 018)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-15 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[the corner of his mouth quirks up]

Of course. What we're thinking of doing certainly won't be easy.

Not that I needed an excuse to spend a day in the library, but I'll see what I can find there while I'm brushing up on a few things.
[technology, medical advancements, that sort of thing]
axiomed: (Our way through)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-16 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
I was looking up physics, for the most part.

[ Since he imagines the laws of physics might hold different in space. ]
beathach: it was more than all your laws allow (⚛ 015)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-16 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Find anything interesting? [that was on his list, too]

I can't seem to find a year for where we are, but considering who I've spoken to, we're at least forty years behind, likely more. [he looks pained] No wonder so many people commented on how young we are.
axiomed: (Default)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-16 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
You might like to look into particle physics.

Forty years? Hmm. That sounds about right.
beathach: but then they'd always seemed right (⚛ 018)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-16 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
I know a little about it, but I'd like to see how far it's come. [he'll add that to his ever-growing list]

Mmm. I can't really picture us forty years from now.
axiomed: (Nothing could come between us)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-16 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I can . . . Granted, that must have changed.
beathach: there were things I'd never do again (⚛ 019)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-16 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
I certainly hope it has. [he remembers everything Logan told them, what Logan told him. That isn't a future he wanted]
axiomed: (The jokes the laughs)

I believe it.
beathach: if i just listened to it (⚛ 004)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-16 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Hank hums his agreement. Charles already knew Hank believed they would be successful, that it would change]

Was there anything else you wanted to discuss about the augments? Or - this place in general? I can't say I have much more to share that you weren't already there to hear.
axiomed: (And we really cared)

[personal profile] axiomed 2016-04-16 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
No. We haven't been here long enough to absorb much else.
beathach: but then they'd always seemed right (⚛ 018)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-04-16 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
[he nods, and lets out a sigh as he leans back on his hands]

So you've already been to the library? I think I'm jealous.
axiomed: (My head and my heart)

It's fairly easy to get to.
