first one to make that doctor who joke loses

Who: Everyone! All of you!
Broadcast: Maybe!
Action: Definitely!
When: Anytime during the toxic moon event!

[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

here's the main event info post for reference! have fun!]

[Why negotiate when you can intimidate? Ciri may be without her weapons, but she does have a very good angry face and voice. Oh, and the strong arms might help, too. Especially when she gets behind the counter and grabs the trader by the shirt, lifting him up and pushing him back with ease.]

Cut the boy a deal.

[Is it a little extreme? Yes, but Ciri's been on a bit of an adrenaline high from the war games and she doesn't like seeing Shinji have a hard time. Also, Buku needs food. As the trader trembles and mutters a new price (how do they expect him to make a living, robbing him like this!), Ciri tilts her head in Shinji's direction.]

Is that better, Shinji?

[It's not robbery. He's still getting money!]

[Oh gosh. Oh jeez. Shinji wasn't expecting a reaction as vehement as that one. He actually takes a step backward from the counter, his fight-or-flight instinct kicking in. Is there going to be a brawl? Are they going to get in trouble? He doesn't want to wind up in space prison! Then Buku would be an orphan!!!

But the altercation lasts for no more than a few seconds. There's a new price, shakily offered: a more reasonable sum. Shini's stance relaxes to a mild degree.]

Uhm, that's a lot better, thank you... [He's a bit dubious, now digging into his jacket pockets for cash. Furtively, he whispers,] You didn't have to go that far, Ciri-san. [But he isn't going to harp on getting a discount. He exchanges a handful of money for the choice canister of fish food. It's pretty hefty and painted with adorable, smiling sea creatures.]

This much food should last us a while, I think.

[Once the exchange is done, Ciri drops the merchant. He's not happy, muttering and mumbling as Ciri smiles and leaves his side of the counter, but Buku won't be put into foster care this day.]

Did I come on too strong?

[Oh, she knows she did, but sometimes she has trouble being subtle.]

Maybe a teeny, tiny bit too strong. [Shinji should be more reproving, more disgruntled, but he can't help but smile at Ciri. It's a small smile and no less genuine for it.] If that had been me, [he says, shaking his head,] I would've peed my pants on the spot. Confrontation isn't my strong suit.

The scars are good for something.

[And the eyeliner. And the scary faces she's perfected over the years. But she seems pleased that Shinji's not upset, ushering him along so that they're a good distance away from the merchant. No need to hang out there.]

Oh, I wish you could meet Geralt. Now he's good at making people piss themselves. He wouldn't even need to touch them.

The scars are pretty cool... [Shinji has always thought the coolest anime heroes were the ones with nasty, exposition-laden scars. They were proof of a life well-lived, if not lived well. Shinji, for all his piloting, doesn't have anything like that. He's surprisingly (and suspiciously) spotless.

He looks down at his shopping list. "New clothing (?)" is written next, and he doesn't know how successful that's going to be. Maybe there are some stores nearby with decent clothes.]

My commanding officer could do that, too. She looked like a dragon when she got really pissed off. Ready to breathe fire and all.

Cool? [She's used to the word being used the way Shinji means, but it's strange to hear it when she's thought her scars are nothing but useful when it's time to be scary. Otherwise, she makes a minor attempt to cover them--a wisp of hair kept loose, covering her face. And an extra button unclasped on her shirt, though some of the clothing she's gotten while on the fleet don't allow for that.]

Oh, so your commanding officer was a strong woman. No wonder you're so respectful, Shinji.

Yeah. Scars tell a story about someone, and that's cool. It's like a living memory. [Shinji doesn't have the courage to ask about Ciri's scars, since they might be too painful or too personal. He's come up with his own explanations, though. That one on her cheek happened when she was trying to rescue a particularly angry mountain lion from a hunter's illegal trap.]

Misato-san was the strongest... Even my father deferred to her over battle plans, and he never did that with anyone else. [But something bad happened and NERV fell apart. Another mystery.] The other Eva pilots I served with were both girls, too. Really brave, really strong girls. I was pretty much the odd one out.
