Eh. Just that it's a masquerade. Something to do with smog?? I don't know, seems a bit of a weird reason to throw a party but there you go.

Any reason is can be good reason, I just hope it isn't code for sacrificing the outsiders.

I imagine if that were the reason, they wouldn't find them unnecessary. They don't seem particularly bloodthirsty, but sometimes it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for.
