[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

Where do you wanna head off to first?

[ he smiles and nudges her excitedly ]

How similar is this place to other planets you've seen?

[ she thinks about it for a moment and heads over to another storefront ]

Very dissimilar. I know it's all impressive being who I am, but I've really only been to Krypton, Earth, the station we were at before, and this moon. Krypton was more like Earth—sans birds—and the station we were on before was super nice.

So this is as much of an adventure for you. If you ignore the 'against our will' and 'we're being watched' parts of it - it's kinda like we're taking a roadtrip! I always thought it'd be cool to go on of those.

[ in the 'thinking about it but never actually going to do it' sort of way. but hey, little by little he's learning to do a lot of things he thought would be cool to do while lying on his couch binge watching something! ]

An interplanetary road trip. I like it!

Is there anything you want to get out of this experience?

Well, I've been told I need some chill -

[ he shrugs. and some confidence, and some curiosity satisfied. the truth is, there's probably a lot to be gained from the experience. ] What about you?

[ shrugs as well ]

It's hard to guess, you know? I'm sure I'll get a lot out of it. I like almost everyone I've met so far.

Yeah -- you were right. [ he nods ] Most people are great.

[ he smiles without even noticing it. it's been such a refreshing experience, to talk to this many new people in this short a time span and hit it off with as many as he had. and with kitty and kate - as well as he had. those sort of friendships don't come around every day, especially not for him. ]

[ she notices ]

Most people, or some very specific people?

[ you know, he's not used to being on this side of the conversation. ]

Well, I haven't really talked to most people on the fleet - [ he's talked to a lot of people compared to himself, not a lot of people period. ]

But yeah, I mean - Kitty's awesome, she's helping me with project Plato [ oh did he not tell you he found a codename? it's not surprising though, is it. ] and Kate has some amazing stories and -- huh. Guess I have a friend type, girls whose name starts with 'K'.

2. I made the same observation. I guess there's something about girls with awesome K names. I really like Kitty and Kate though! I'm glad you're getting along.

1. Yeah, you know - Plato compared the sun to goodness, it feels like a good fit.

[ he smiles at her. he can't imagine a better symbol for goodness than kara, with or without her superpowers. ]

[ but that's why they're friends ]

[ otherwise he wouldn't have any idea how to begin to tackle the problem of 'sun generator'. ]

Yeah, lucky for me. I'm not cool enough for non-nerd friends.

More like they're not cool enough for us! [ nudging. ok, for her - she's a superhero for pity's sake. but he's her behind-the-scenes sidekick, that's worth some points! ]

You're right! We're pretty great.

So, anything else you need to pick up around here?

I think I'm good for now, I'll take another look with Kitty, she's got more experience with assembling power sources.

[ can you tell how cool he thinks that is? it's extremely cool, kara. extremely! ]

Really? I didn't know that.

Yeah, she's one of my people. [ it's been so long since he's had a friend who spoke his tech language ] She hasn't put anything together -- of the particular kind we need, but with her help it should be a lot easier to improvise one.

Sounds like you'll make a great team. She seems like she'll be pretty easy to work with.

Yeah, it's gonna be fun.

[ the moon lifted his spirits, but having a project - a way to help kara - to work on, and a good partner to do that with did most of the heavy lifting, really. ]

You're my best friend, there's nothing I wouldn't do for you. [ he smiles with a shrug. hey, even when there was something he didn't want to do, it didn't take that much convincing to get him to do it, he's definitely not going to sit on his ass when it's something that he'd actually love to do! ]
