first one to make that doctor who joke loses

Who: Everyone! All of you!
Broadcast: Maybe!
Action: Definitely!
When: Anytime during the toxic moon event!

---

[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

here's the main event info post for reference! have fun!]

[Of course her self-preservation is horrible, she's a civilian. He assumes, and tenses slightly in anticipation of a smack to the head that will never come. No Jean here to scold him about going easy on a child, or for scaring her in the first place.]

Then I hope your ship has a good medical facility. [That actually was his attempt at a joke, deadpan as it was. The voice is a perfectly normal man's, thick with a German accent.] I apologize for frightening you, kinder.

[She gives a loud sigh, smiling wide as she looks back to Kurt -- perhaps a bit creepily, because for some people, her overly wide and forced grin is rather strange and unnatural. She can't help it, especially when she's nervous.]

Oh, n-no, no, it's okay! I'm sure I'll be okay. I wouldn't trouble our medical with something so ridiculous; I'll be fine! [She turns to start swiftly cleaning the water from the floor with a rag, wringing it back into the upturned bucket.] I'm so sorry for the mess, sir! How careless of me; I'll have it cleaned in no time at all, you have my word!

[The first thing he thinks when faced with that grin is to briefly wonder if the child is demented. Kurt's torn between teleporting away and asking if she's alright when the girl begins to apologize. And start cleaning the mess he'd caused. Well, that explains the pristine condition of the ship.]

No, no, child. Let me help at least. [Maybe its a mistake to come down from the wall, flipping to land on his feet easily as breathing, but the day he can't handle a small girl is the day he's officially too old to live. He moves toward her at a moderate pace, keeping his hands where she can see them.] At least let me help clean what I helped mess up?

[She shakes her head, looking up and locking her hands together in front of her, as if imploring.]

It's fine, I swear! I'm very used to cleaning up messes, sir!

I would never want to inconvenience you, so please, don't you worry — ah! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to command you to do anything. That would be so horribly out of my place! I've always been a bit too careless with my words...!

[Up close, the clarity is there: she's smiling, but there's a stress to it, a concern, and the strained grin is more a mask than anything else. An attempt to smile to please Kurt enough that he won't be upset with her for her dramatic response.]

[He's seen masks like those before. Generally, he likes to punish the ones who instilled that kind of fear in another person; but the one responsible is likely worlds away. He hopes so, for her sake.

Lowering into a crouch that puts him closer to her eye level, Kurt offers her the kindest smile he can muster with a face like this.]
Peace, girl, it's all right. I'm not angry with you in the least, I promise.

Are you the one who keeps the ship so clean?

[Her smile softens, just a bit. But it's something.

Eyes scanning the twinkling area, she blushes under the weight of the question.]

Yes, sir! It's my job here as cabin girl. I make sure everything is in order...!

Th-though sometimes my shipmates don't like it. But I don't mind. It's what I'm very good at, i-if I may be bold! I apologize if that's too prideful of me to think.
