first one to make that doctor who joke loses

Who: Everyone! All of you!
Broadcast: Maybe!
Action: Definitely!
When: Anytime during the toxic moon event!

[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

here's the main event info post for reference! have fun!]

Hm. I'm the same. [Engineer, that is.] Most ships have one of those, I would think.

You would think, but I'm not exactly privy to how Atroma chooses which Augments to implant in us. I don't know if anyone's ever taken a count of who has what to get a ratio before.

[He hasn't considered it much. The more pressing thought, to him, is how to get rid of them.]

How many types are you aware of?

I'm Engineering, and there's a Pilot, Security, and I think Cooking. That's all I know, but there could be more.

Everything needed for a well-serviced vessel.

[There's an air of distaste about his words. Everything is systematic here, geared towards the illusion of self-sufficiency and relative comfort.]

I think that's the idea, but I won't say I know for sure.

And however you feel about it, don't try and take it out. We had someone try and it went poorly, and my personal theory is that they've been closely interconnected with our actual brains, or at least the nerves.

[ He can hear the distaste, so he feels the warning is somewhat warranted. You never knew, and he didn't think it would help morale at all for one of their own to die trying to take the thing out. ]

I do have to admit it gives some comfort that someone who's never piloted a ship before will at least know how, though. Dying my crashing is not my idea of a good way to go out.

I know, I do pay attention to the network. [Especially when one of the testers was Kitty. Besides which, he's already done his own test on his augment. Nothing that went far enough to draw blood, but enough to know that he will be leaving it alone for now.]

There are very few good ways to go out, in my opinion.

Heh, that I would have to agree with. I would prefer not to go out at all, but I know the ways I don't, at least.

Which is a bit of a morbid topic considering where we are. At least it's not a graveyard.

[ He laughed and rubbed the back of his head, turning to push further into the wood. ]

Isn't it? You don't know what's lying under this kind of ground. [Considering this moon's violent history, and poison air, they may be stepping on all kinds of bones as they speak.]

[ He gives him a look over his mask. ]

You're one of those glass half empty kind of guys, aren't you?

And you're one of the annoyingly naive optimists? [He knows the type. Always looking on the bright side, instead of the shadows where the threats are.] I'm not sure why my outlook on life is so important to you.
universal_charm: (Default)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-15 06:17 am (UTC)(link)

I would hardly call myself naive. Having optimism and a little hope isn't a bad thing, you know.

[ He waved his hand and continued making his way slowly through the forests, kicking at the loam beneath his feet now and then, careful to avoid falling into anything. ]

Just has me curious, is all, especially when I'm already resisting the urge to curl up in the fetal position every time I come out here.

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-15 10:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Erik keeps pace, for lack of better things to do.] So, you're looking for a distraction. [He's not going to touch that optimism comment. They've already established he's not the one for that mode of thinking.]

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-17 05:38 am (UTC)(link)

More or less. Essentially I'm just very bad at sitting around and doing nothing, especially when there's a problem that needs solving.

[ He shrugged, because he didn't feel he needed further explanation than that. It's just who he was. ]

grandstanding: (Waffle on the ceiling.)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-17 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
I can think of bigger problems. [Namely, their getting out of here. He'd rather apply himself to that, than the woes of this moon.]
universal_charm: (Look Back)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-18 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I don't doubt that. But this is the one immediately in front of us. So, one problem at a time.

[ That's how he looked at it anyways. He wanted to get home as much as anyone, but that problem was going to take much longer to solve, and he couldn't rationalize letting his own issues keep him from helping someone else in need. ]
