In mine, they were volunteers for a rather unethical experiment to draw power off this stone and infuse people with it. I don't believe any of the other subjects survived.

Yes. [Well, probably at puberty, but the DNA is still there.] That... I guess it wouldn't be the strangest difference between realities. [The shifting age relationships between people makes no sense to her either.] Or maybe they survived because they were mutants and it activated latent powers.

I won't discount the possibility. There are individuals with various powers, but the term "mutant" isn't one that comes up outside of standard genetics research.

What kind of powers did they get? [Wanda's were kind of hard to explain and she never actually saw them in action, so...] My world's Pietro had super speed.

Yes, super speed describes it as well as anything. Wanda has a combination of telepathy, telekinesis, and energy manipulation - it appears as scarlet bursts.

[He tilts his head, considering.] Various factors. Exposure to gamma rays, an Infinity Stone in close proximity, an elixir with a lost formula, contact with alien races. The causes are as varied as the people.

Kind of hard to wrap my head around how some of these differences came up. Not that it matters much from here I guess.

They've been completely unable to duplicate the effect, naturally, but on Dr. Bruce Banner they caused him to undergo a profound change. Whenever he becomes angry or loses control of his anger, he grows to approximately six times his normal size in muscle, becomes green, and generally prefers ripping things apart and punching them to logical discourse. We call him "the Hulk" in that state.

That...sounds like a good reason to be very in control of your feelings. [It reminds her a little of Logan in his berserker state but without the dramatics of turning green or increasing in size. He's still extremely powerful even if he is shorter than her.]

Far moreso than the average person. It's a trial, and one prone to manipulation by outside forces.

[Which is really too bad. Dr. Banner's accomplishments are always overshadowed by the Hulk's violence.]

Or to force him to distract us, though it amounts to the same thing. He became frustrated with it, of course, which didn't help. The last I heard, he'd run away from everything for some time.

Not that easy to run away from things when it's part of you, but I guess you can't blame someone like that for trying. [She wanted to run...well, walk away from things herself once.]

I think he believed it was easier to run away from things than from himself. But I do hope we see him again someday soon.

Oh, back home, I'd imagine. I hardly think Atroma would want that kind of destructive power aboard a tiny ship surrounded by vacuum.
