It's Star Trek and that isn't exactly - you know, the same thing as this.

Right. . . . Wait, I think I see something on the side.

[ And the video flickers on, the red light glowing softly. It focuses on two men. One in a wheelchair and the other right next to him, peering curiously at the camera before they step back satisfied. ]

Well, that’s over and done with. Hello to anyone who might be out there. My name is Charles Xavier and this is Hank McCoy. Apparently we’ve been kidnapped again, by an unknown force again for some mysterious reason.

[muttered:] Again. [and louder] So if anyone would be kind enough to explain exactly what's going on, we'd appreciate it. You have our thanks in advance.

There really is. And I don't want to mislead anyone, but you'll get the doom-and-gloom from everyone else.

It really doesn't seem all that gloomy to me, honestly.

Or not. Since it might suggest that this is an improvement for you.

I won't lie, it is a vast improvement to the other places I have been kidnapped to. I can't say I'm enjoying myself, but I can appreciate some of its . . . charm.

You've been kidnapped before?

Similar, but not quite. The others had more . . . danger involved.

I've heard of that. People coming from other places. I just came from home.

So did I, technically. I was setting up my school before I found myself here.

[ And that elicits a pang of sadness. He had finally gotten his life back on track, he had Erik, he was finally going to achieve the dream he had lost so long ago. Now, it's been taken away. ]

You're a teacher?

[axiomed]

A professor, actually. I was planning on . . . starting my own school.

[ Restarting to be frank. ]

A general school, or do you have a specialty?

[axiomed]

We do, in fact. We're meant to teach new mutants how to control and use their powers.

[takingkarabusiness]

Oh, I'm friends with a woman who's a mutant here. Actually, she said she was a teacher...

[ HMMMMMM ]

That sounds like a great place for people to learn.

[axiomed]

That is the idea. I know that having powers and not fully understanding them or how to control them can be a terrifying experience. My hope is that there is a place where that can be expressed without fear.

I'm not a mutant, but I have some... peculiarities, I guess, and I would've liked a place like that, I think.

[axiomed]

Well, the working theory is that time works different here. So maybe you'll be where you left off when you get to go home.

It holds water. Erik has been here for a month but he certainly hadn't gone missing at home.

A friend of mine showed up but I feel like he knows more than I do.
