[WHOOPS almost flew into a tree, do not text while driving.]

[Okay, seriously, comm is going away now. A little while later, Kirito swings around the cave area and spots a big, discoloured bear prowling around a tree. At least he's easy to find.]

...Anybody home?

[That bear sure is prowling around! And sure enough, Sora's still hanging up in that tree- for dear life. Getting more and more worried about the situation as the time passes]

[huaaaaagh]

[Hmm, the bear doesn't seem to be paying much attention to anything but the tree. Kirito flies low, snagging a couple of loose stones, and swoops back up and throws one right at the bear's butt.

It gets his attention, at least, though now he's snarling at both of them.]

Hey, come this way! You want to fight somebody?

[Oh yeah, the rocks being thrown at the bear sure gets his attention, and he's snarling his head off.]

[Sora meanwhile is even more worried]

Hey! Be careful down there!

[huaaaaagh]

Don't worry, he can't get me.

[He says, as the bear turns around - and one more stone right on the furball's nose has him loping right over to where Kirito's standing. Away from the tree! Score.

Before the bear can get too close, Kirito pushes off the ground and lets the wings keep him airborne, hovering just out of reach of the bear's claws. As if it wasn't frustrated enough already.]

Nice try!

...Whoa...

[Yeah, Sora's getting impressed by his flying. A little jealous too- since he sure doesn't have that skill himself, despite being a flying type. But that's just so cool]

[Meanwhile yeah, that bear sure is fully distracted from the tree and keeps trying to go after Kirito. Stupid flying rock flowing weird bird thing >B| ]

[Kirito tries to lead the bear further away from Sora's tree, but it's tricky to do when the bear keeps giving up when they get too far off and wanders back to its original target. Maybe this won't be as easy as he'd hoped.

Might as well multi-task as he flits around, working on an alternate tactic.]

So how'd you aggro a bear in the first place?

[Sora meanwhile let's Kirito do his work, because hey- looks like he's got it covered with all that flying from Sora's point of view]

Um....I sorta woke it up by accident?

Got too close to the cave?

[Do mutated zombie bears hibernate? Does this place even have seasons? The world may never know.

...Man, this bear is super tenacious. Maybe if he steers it into a tree a few times...?]

Um- Something like that!

[Close enough. But sure Kirito, give it a go! It might work!]

Do you usually have luck this bad, or is it just that kind of day?

[Okay then... zipping down to lead the bear through an area where the trees are especially close together. He's out of sight for a couple moments, followed by the bear. There's a snarl, a "whoa!" and a loud thunk.]

[He has no idea himself okay. And he listens to that! Making a very surprised noise when he hears that THUNK]

Whoa! What happened?

[It's quiet for a couple of seconds, then Kirito hops out of the brush and lands on a branch in the tree beside Sora's, peering down in the direction of where the bear had gone.]

Ran it into a tree. The bear's pretty durable, though, so it just shook it off. Didn't expect that...

Seriously!?

[Oh crap! Just how strong are bears?!]

Oh man- how about just trying to fly me outta here instead? Think you could do that?

Admittedly this is nothing compared to the fire-breathing Magnatherium he'd fought back in SAO, but that fight took almost an hour even with a partner... not something he wants to repeat.]

Yeah, I'm not sure it'd fall for the same trick twice... escape via air is probably the way to do it. You said you were light, so we'll give it a shot.

[With his new strength augment, he's better suited to carrying people than he was before, at least. As the bear staggers angrily out of the woods, Kirito flies over to Sora's tree and offers out his hands.]

[Yeah especially when your party member is basically the equivalent to level 1 right now. Talk about having to do all the work]

Okay! Let's try it!

[He'll reach out and grab that hand! Kirito will find that Sora really wasn't kidding- he is definitely light. If anything, he's far lighter than a human even his small size should be.]

[Though, that's not a bad thing considering it'll mean he probably won't have much trouble carrying him]

[Once he's got a firm hold, Kirito starts pulling them up, and the first lurch is more sudden than he'd intended because he'd expected it to be harder than it is.]

Whoa! You weren't kidding, you really are light.

[Once they're properly airborne, he aims them in the direction of the nearest populated area and starts flying, keeping them high so they're out of the bear's reach.]

Mind keeping an eye on our friend down there? We don't want to lead it into town or something.

[Sora meanwhile holds with both hands, but he can't help but grin at the remark]

Ha- I told ya!

[Yeah, he's feeling a lot better now that he's in the air and not stuck in a tree waiting for a demise by bear. He looks down to try to spot their furry adversary]

Well- she still looks dazed! I think she's trying to pick up our scent again.

Hopefully if we avoid getting too low to the ground, she won't notice.

[He flies a little higher, just in case, wings beating faster. It doesn't help that the wings themselves are kind of musical, but Kirito's hoping the bear won't notice that, either.]
