Today, our lovely sponsors have sent me a stack of armor catalogs. I guess they figured that I miss my armor and would want to wear a set again... but I don't, really. I found a way to reuse my old body for other things back home, so I don't need to buy more. But that's not all... [He holds up a few images of a boy roughly his age and height modeling a very gaudy outfit.] They also want me to dress for this upcoming huge party, I guess. I don't know, do you all think I would look good in this outfit?

Hmm. To start, what sort of things do you usually like to wear?

When I need to be formal, I go with a dress shirt, dress pants, and maybe a vest and a tie. Casually, I usually go for shorts and a t-shirt or tank top, since I lived in a pretty warm climate growing up.

Your usual formal-wear would be enough for the party. Choosing different fabrics and colors will add interest.

Sounds good, even though part of me does want to go with something silly. I'm probably never going to come back to this planet, so I may as well make an impression.

[ She laughs lightly. ]

That's true. Have you considered a cape?

Oh, I haven't! That's sure to be flashy and make me look nice and handsome. I can make it red... my brother usually wears a long red coat, so it'll be a little tribute to him.

That sounds like an excellent idea. And a flashy mask might make an impression as well. Perhaps something more unusual, like an animal-inspired mask or one made of an unusual material.

I think I have a few ideas in mind. I'll be the life of the party.

And I'll be glad to learn about their traditions myself. At least I am getting to travel and learn things while I'm stuck here.

That's true. And I've found that the other passengers are more than willing to discuss their own cultures.

Which I find to be so fascinating! Back home, space travel was still a dream, but so many people who live here have never known a world without it. But I can still find connections with people regardless.

I've been travelling since I was young, so I can barely imagine staying in one place at a time.

It's comforting to find connections in a situation like this. In the end, we're all people regardless of where we're from. And everyone is equal here.

Brother and I traveled a lot, too- and I was just getting ready to leave on another journey when I was brought here. We wanted to learn and experience new things.

That's true. Nobody can claim any sort of leadership or position over anybody else, except the Captains, and even then, they don't seem to have much authority to actually change or rule anything. Atroma is always over all of us.

If there is an audience, right? I think there is, but I know some people are skeptical of the idea.
