We've lost a few crew, lately. Nothing nefarious -- they just left. So maybe there might have been a few regrets.

Sometimes the Atroma just -- send people back. Or send them somewhere else. Honestly, most people are just taking it on faith about the 'going back' part.

I've never seen it. And we've had four people leave. [ suddenly, her tone is less cocksure. more...professional. as though she's satisfied to take a direct and logical approach to the question. ]

Four people disappearing from the same ship to go home. there can't be a breach on the ship or you would have seen it. but then, there has to be a way to teleport those people back here. you'd notice if someone were to come and just kidnap them. the breach must be here.

Let's just say I have very recently had some past experience with the whole other earths and multiverse thing.

I can't answer that. Not fully. But I can toss around a working theory -- that either the Atroma or some force hijacked by the Atroma is capable of pulling individuals not only from discrete worlds but also discrete times. I don't think it goes like this for everyone but...so far, I've counted up to like three different versions of my world represented in the fleet. And dozens more different points-in-time from those versions.

So they can go to every timeline in any world on the multiverse. it takes more than just a space breach it's a - time tunnel combined with a breach. that will take huge amount of energy and should be fairly easy to locate.

[ writing all of that down ]
