We have a masquerade coming up, and I was bored so I thought I'd mettle in people's lives for my own amusement. First, the disclaimer, there is nothing wrong with going to a dance solo.

Now, for anyone else, who wants a date?

Sorry, not me. Taken. But there are probably some of you out there thinking a date would be fun, and sure, why not? So speak up. Let's make some love connections. Or, you know, awkward dancing connections. I'm a mutant, not a miracle worker.

Oh, come on. You know you have great hair. [Kitty laughs.] But thank you. [She feels a little embarrassed by this, but she's grateful.]

I think he'll like it. [But he keeps doing so much for her. She wants to give something back. Pretty hair isn't enough, but it's a start?] And like I said, if there's anything you want from me, just ask. I mean, that's just true in general. You're my crewmate.

Worry not, Kitty, I want for nothing and if I shall, I know I may ask you without concern.

[ but nevermind that, boys is a nicer subject ]

Now. what shall we do with your hair?

[They do have their moments. She can't even remember the last time she had something that really qualified as "girl talk."]

I'm not sure. It's a lot shorter than yours, but I like the way you leave it mostly down with just a little pulled back? Like it's natural and fancy at the same time. And something that won't come apart while I'm dancing.

I have to say I never met a lady with such short hair. The Southorn style is to keep it long.

[ she peers at her through the screen and smiles ]

I will make certain it is nothing less than perfect.

I could say I'm from the north, but it might mean something very different to you. Besides, I had longer hair when I was younger. I just needed something with less maintenance in battle.

Very different. Lady Sansa is from the north of my realm and has beautiful hair. As long as mine, I believe but her color is ever more striking.

[ she sits back ]

A good thing we do not plan on making battle at the masquerade. I shall be glad to help you with your hair, I think I will have to see the dress beforehand.

I still haven't met her, but I did meet her brother, Robb, and apparently I already knew her brother Jon. I've met Tyrion too. [Though she knows he's no relation to the Starks (or the Snow). She did enjoy him though.]

[She smiles at the comment about battle at the masquerade. She had mentioned to Winn she needed something she could fight in just in case. It's hard to break old habits, but she doesn't expect anything like that. Besides, something she can dance in and something she can fight in are close enough parallels.] Sure. I'll have it by then. It's blue with a mostly open back. The neckline is high on the front but then there's a cutout. It'll make more sense when you see it.

[ she smiles and nods. ]

I have met Jon Snow, myself a little after my arrival here and lord Tyrion and I know each other from the capital, he's wickedly fun, is he not?

[ favorite lannister ever ]

My dress is blue as well, a very pale shade of it with an embroidery in gold.

He is. I really liked talking to him. We met over drinks awhile ago. [She's glad Margaery's response is kinder about him than Robb's had been. Not that his was harsh exactly, but she's always sensitive about people calling others out or putting them down for differences.]

I'm sure you're going to look great. This is kind of your element, isn't it?

He is a very clever man, well-learned and sharp as the finest blade in the realm.

[ and unlike many, she flushes but does appreciate his rather scandalous sense of humor. ]

It is, I reckon. Such celebrations were very common where I come from and I would be lying if I said I am not keen on one.

That's a good way to put it. [She also saw compassion and kindness in him, but she doesn't choose to bring that up now. They may have gotten carried away in relating their pasts to each other. The alcohol helped.]

When I was younger there were some formal dances you could expect like prom. [But your expectations wouldn't be met because the world would end instead.] I never really attended anything like that, but when I was young I trained in dance. It was more performance than partner-based, but I still look forward to these things.

There are some in our realm who would mock him for his appearances. I find them cruel and foolish, two things which make for a dreadful combination.

[ she remembers sansa's plight at marrying the man and she had told her gently as she could, better tyrion who was gentle to fair joffrey who they both knew was a beast. ]

I learned dancing myself. Mayhaps you could spare one dance for me in return for my assistance? it shall be my honor.

[Do you have any idea how many points you're earning right now? She smiles, glad that Margaery came to her ship.] Two of my least favorite things.

I like you, Margaery. Consider that dance yours.

and mine as well.

[ and two her future husband has in sums. if the rumors of joffrey's death are true, margaery cannot really pretend she would miss him or the chance of becoming his lady wife ]

I am certainly the most fortunate lady in the fleet. Now. My other reward. tell me about your escort. I was never aware you had a suitor!

["Suitor" wow.] His name is Winn Schott. He's smart, resourceful, and creative. [IT and fashion design? That's some impressively well-rounded brain work.]

He's completely unaware of how cute he is, and he's very sweet, thoughtful, and loyal. [And yeah, she likes him. She's doing a pretty bad job of denying and minimizing that at this point, isn't she?]

He has terrible taste in women, but don't let him know. [First, Kara who wasn't into him and now her and all the baggage and damage that comes with her.]

Oh I know Winn. I think he is absolutely darling, what I was not aware that he was your suitor. You never told me - have you kissed?

[ keenly ]

and never say that! he has a wonderful taste in women to choose someone with spirit and beauty for his lady.

[ ... ]

And myself for his friend.

I guess I could have stopped at, "it's Winn" then. [Feeling only slightly embarrassed for going on.] I don't know if I'd use the word suitor, but we've definitely kissed. [And surprisingly not much else yet.]

Well, if he's friends with you too I guess I should take it back.

No, not at all. Do not feel embarrassed, there is no need. I - find it very sweet.

[ not something she can imagine for herself. for a girl who wishes to be queen, infatuations and honest affection were never an option but it is lovely still, to see it happening to someone else. ]

...is he a good kisser?

I have no complaints. [She smiles.] He's eager and patient in the right ways. [Is she really doing the girl talk thing? She feels like she is. Also, not hating it. Not sure how Winn would feel about being the subject of it though.]

[ she giggles and bites her lip ]

I do not know much of kissing but that does sound very pleasant.

Really? Not even with your husband-to-be?

[ and before she can misunderstand that to think margaery is replused by her betrothed which is it - ]

we are not meant to engage in such until we are wed.

Yeah? Doesn't that make it harder to know if you're compatible? I mean, not that it's the most important thing. It's not, but it's not a terrible indicator.

[ she smiles ]

He is - handsome and fair and brave as a lion.

[ all easy lies to tell by now ]

and kissing is something that luckily can be taught.

That's true. As long as they're willing to learn.

...Do you think you'll wait for him here? [Maybe too much of a question, but she figures if the other girl doesn't want to answer it she won't.]
