[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

That's the spirit.

[She sees someone else across the room twirl their partner around in time with the music, and she grins. Then after a beat, Ahsoka is raising her hand for Nightingale to indicate the same.]

[She laughs a little.]

If that's what you're after, you're going to have to lead, since you're that much taller than me.

[She's short and it's terrible.]

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka laughs as well.]

That's what I was aiming for. You gotta live a little, right?

Well, then. By all means.

[She lets Ahsoka lead, and is... immediately and obviously more comfortable following than leading.]

[Ahsoka grins and twirls Nightingale around a bit in time with the music, before bringing her in again.]

honestly, spinning her is probably ridiculously easy, considering she both has considerable experience with this, and is kind of crazy light. girl needs a sandwich or twenty.]

You learn fast.

[Ahsoka gives a genial shrug.]

I've always been better at learning by doing. I usually fell asleep in history class.

[experiencepoints]

That just sounds like a bad teacher.

[resnipstance]

Not really. It's just how I learn. I always did well in combat classes, no matter what we were learning. But I don't like sitting still.

[experiencepoints]

Makes sense, but still... If a teacher's boring enough for you to fall asleep, that's bad teaching.

I had a teacher who made magic about that boring, once.

[resnipstance]

What? How?!

[experiencepoints]

By being incredibly boring.

And spending three full weeks on review material, and refusing to deviate from his plan even a little. And didn't allow questions. And he was so dull.

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka shakes her head, and it's almost a full-body shudder.]

Yikes. No thank you!

[experiencepoints]

Yeah. I'm not sure how you get a teaching license if you can make magic boring.

[resnipstance]

Do you have to have a license where you're from?

Back home, it's considered every Jedi's duty to be a teacher, and pass on what they know.

[experiencepoints]

Huh... Nah, back home, you had to have a license to teach. I think. I don't really remember much about that, honestly...

[resnipstance]

It probably works like that in the school system back home too, now that I think about it. The Jedi are just a special case. There aren't enough of us as it is, and with the war on, that number is dwindling every day.

[experiencepoints]

... I'm sorry to hear that.

[uuuuugh why does your world suck. why is everyone killing everyone from the sounds of it.]

[resnipstance]

... Don't worry about it. It's okay. I mean-- it's not okay okay, but... in coming here, we were actually able to find out what's really causing the war.

So it's not all bad. When we go back, we'll be ready and prepared this time to stop it.

[experiencepoints]

Good.

... If you need any help, too, let me know. I've got quite a bit of firepower.

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka gets a look on her face that is somehow equal parts cynically amused and also wistful.]

You know, I do like the idea of you lighting the Chancellor on fire.

... Buuuut unlike the Atroma, we haven't quite perfected inter-dimensional travel just yet. So you'd probably be stuck with us.

[experiencepoints]

At home, my mother knows a teleport spell. If I can learn that, I can probably figure out how to tweak it to aim it across dimensions.

And I have quite a few fire spells to try.

[resnipstance]

Well, if you ever work it out, it'd be nice to see you again.

I could show you Shili-- you'd like it, I think. [She chuckles.] No snow.

As long as it's not like this place, I'd love to see it.
