[ Beverly is elegant, and he feels the movements suit her. He doesn't back away from his initial attack, instead pushing forward and into a roll to avoid her blow and then back up again. He kept low and quick stepped back in, intending to shove with his shoulder to disrupt her footing. ]

Got me there!

That's a pancake you owe me!
[ He grinned, not letting up. He continued with his own momentum, falling into a series of quick jabs that ended with a sharp round-house aimed at her kidneys. ]

[ He knew his mistake the instant she caught his leg. It was to late to pull back - that would only worsen his situation. Instead of fighting, he fell with the momentum, bracing with his hands and pushing up, swinging out into a scissor kick. He didn't really care if he hit her with the move, so much as he wanted her to back up and he could regain his feet and reassess things. ]

[ He puts the space back between them and gets to his feet. He takes several hard breaths, calming himself and assessing her again. His mouth twitched into a smile. ]
Not bad, Beverly.
[ He followed in with another serious of jabs, the attacks sharper and more pin-point in nature, almost boxer-like. ]

[ The exchange was teaching him a few things. Beverly obviously knew what she was doing, and he suspected she had come against or trained for this sort of attack before. He grunted when her hits landed - it didn't seem like she was going for true debilitating blows, but they still hurt! Or maybe that was Khan's particular contribution to his anatomy these days. Either way the exchanges carried until he finally quick-stepped back, panting. He raised his hands in the universal gesture for peace. ]
Time, time, I call a time.

I'll get us some water?
no subject
That would be great, yeah.
[ He nodded his head and stood up to his full height, hands on hips now as he breathed. Oh, that was a good work out. First round anyways, his own forehead shiny with sweat. ]

Not too bad, old man.

[ He takes it with a nod and pops it open to take several large swigs before giving her a grin. ]
Not to shabby for a whipper-snapper.

Unfortunately, I’m not so young any more. Lucky I didn’t pull anything.

[ He winced sympathetically. ]
If it helps, I think you've given me a couple of bruises that'll last for about a day, but you gave them to me.

I do miss them sometimes. But on the other hand, I like the workout feeling from sparring. But I do like not being bruised. Kind of fifty-fifty.

I want to say humans are above that sort of thing now, but let's admit it - punching something when you're upset feels so good.
[ He glances at her. ]
Were you trying to let something out?
no subject
Not this time anyway.
no subject
Well, if you ever need that, just let me know. This was fun. You'll have to teach me a couple of those moves too.
[ He wiped at his face and smiled brightly. ]

Maybe next time though, when I have more open spots for bruises.

Yeah - yeah I'd really like that. Let's compare schedules later and pick out a time that works.
