[Well, she supposes that makes sense that a vampire would be nocturnal.]

Good, I'm glad that's helping! But... If you are interested, I do know of a medication that would make your pupils contract, at least for a few hours, which might especially help on a planet where we have less control over the lighting.
pneumo: (uh....hhhuh)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-05-29 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
So....my eyes would get smaller?? [ Less scientifically speaking. Life is hard when you lack a formal education and have had to learn most of your experiences via watching others. ]

[Listening quietly for the moment, glad that there might be something to help him, but also relatively sure he'd forget to take any drops like he forgot his air mask on the moon. She's a little surprised the brain is checking out so cleanly though.]
dancingmd: (chinhands)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-05-29 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Only your pupils would get smaller. That's the black part in the center of your eye - it's actually an opening that controls how much light gets in.
pneumo: (そうか。。。)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-05-30 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
And if it shrinks, it won't hurt to look at light so much...?
dancingmd: (talk to me)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-05-30 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! But you don't have to do it if you don't want to, it's only a suggestion. Whatever makes you more comfortable.
pneumo: (oh that makes sense)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-05-30 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
.............

Will it stop the migraines?
passingthrough: (Curious - More than the surface)

[personal profile] passingthrough 2016-05-30 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Why didn't you mention getting migraines before? [Sure, Crusher seemed to know, but he'd never told her.]
pneumo: (weak laugh)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-05-30 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh...um. They're just normal? For me. 'Cause I'm always out where it's light, so...

[ sacrificing his own comfort to be around people, no matter how much it hurts later, has become routine for him. He's just that starved for interaction. ]
dancingmd: (concerned)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-05-31 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Sascha... [Beverly's brow furrows with concern for him] How often do you get these migraines then? Every day?
pneumo: (weak laugh)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-05-31 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Um.... Yes? [ Sometimes several a day, if you count the short "breaks" between them that he sometimes gets as separate. Otherwise it's just one long, massive migraine until the light go out and he can wait for it to stop. ]
passingthrough: (Sitting - On the edge)

[personal profile] passingthrough 2016-05-31 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Frowning at you, vampire. But doing it with all the worry.] Anything else? Do you catch on fire at least once a day? Anything that might be normal to you?
pneumo: (8|!)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-05-31 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't catch fire...! [ I mean, he can but that's only if someone actually lights him on fire. ] I'm just not supposed to be awake when there's light out.

[ or lights on. Which is almost all the time in space. ]
dancingmd: (ouch)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-06-03 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Gently.]

Daily migraines aren't normal, nor should they be. You don't have to keep dealing with them on your own.
pneumo: (baww...)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-06-03 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
But if I'm not awake when there's light I won't see anyone...
passingthrough: (Contemplative)

[personal profile] passingthrough 2016-06-03 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
She's not telling you that you need to stop going out.
dancingmd: (what do you know about this girl?)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-06-04 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Gently.] No, of course I'm not saying that. I just want to provide you with tools to help so that you can do the things you want to do, without as much pain.
pneumo: (そうか。。。)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-06-04 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh... [ Well that doesn't sound so bad. He'd actually be quite grateful if he didn't have to go through several hours a day of migraines. But with light and humans needing it, he figured it was just something he'd deal with...well, forever. ]
passingthrough: (Curious - More than the surface)

[personal profile] passingthrough 2016-06-04 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You'll have to remember to use them. You're sure you didn't see anything that would cause memory problems?
dancingmd: (chinhands)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-06-05 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Not unless there's something specific about vampire physiology that I'm missing - but perhaps... Sascha, would you be okay with performing regular check ups, so I can see if there are any long term changes?
pneumo: (uh....hhhuh)

[personal profile] pneumo 2016-06-05 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Oh...sure. I don't mind. [ He's not sure what there'll be to see given that he heals, but! If it makes Kitty happy, he'll do it. ]
passingthrough: (Calm)

[personal profile] passingthrough 2016-06-05 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Well, thanks, Dr. Crusher. [The thing she was hoping to hear more on seems like a dead end, but maybe establishing a pattern with regular checkups will help. Finding a way to fix his headaches is good since she didn't even know that was a problem.]
dancingmd: (what do you know about this girl?)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-06-05 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. Though...

[She looks between both of them, a little concerned.]

May I ask why you came to me and not Dr. Tam? If you don't want to say, that's all right, I'm just... surprised.
passingthrough: (Sitting - On the edge)

[personal profile] passingthrough 2016-06-05 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Dr. Tam? Oh, Simon? I just knew your background with Starfleet meant you'd probably treated a lot of non-humans. And I don't know any thing about his background. I wasn't sure if he was even a doctor before or just someone with an augment. Is it a problem?
dancingmd: (talk to me)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-06-06 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, it's not a problem. It's just that Dr. Tam is the primary physician, so I wanted to know. And he is a doctor, in his world, though there are only humans in his universe, so you are right on that count, that I'd be more familiar with different species.
