[ Even if you don't know Ino, it's pretty obvious that she's absolutely furious right now. Everything about the way she's sitting in her chair to the expression on her face screams rage. (There may or may not also be a large dent in the wall behind her. What? It's stress relief!)

But when she's got the communicator set in place and she speaks up to address the other people who might be watching, her voice is controlled enough. At first, anyways. ]

I can't believe I even have to make a transmission like this, but you know what? Apparently I do, because some people in this fleet can't keep their damn hands to themselves! So here goes!

Guess what we aren't going to be doing any more of in this fleet? [ She says, as though she's in charge of everyone. But that's just how she operates. ] Did you guess attempted murder? Great! Good job! You were right.

I know some of you probably have some seriously itchy fingers, but in case you forgot, being dead is generally a very PERMANENT situation! And in case you forgot, we are all in this shitty situation together! Creating drama like this is exactly what the people running this want!

You wanna punch somebody? Okay. You wanna kick them? Fine! But the next time anybody -- especially the offender in question, and you know who you are -- goes full-blown MURDER on somebody else we're going to have a little chat!

[ She leans into the camera. Is it possible for someone's eyeballs to be on fire from pure rage? Maybe. Either way, she hisses into the camera ]

And it's not going to be a pleasant one!

And where is it you're from?

A place called Konoha. I've been told it's very similar to a country called "Japan", if you've heard of it.

As you might surmise, I'm not precisely from earth-- but I should imagine it's a lovely region.

I try not to assume things like that. After all, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of versions of "Earth" out there.

Yes, but they tend to have rather marked similarities, have you noticed? Constants and variables, I suppose. In any case: given I am not an earthling, do tell me what that entails.

Sometimes, but not always. The possibilities are infinite, really.

Hmm, it's a bit hard to explain without any pictures on hand, but -- Konoha is a village in Fire Country, it's the most prosperous place in the world and well known for its military prowess. The architecture and the food compared to other places is pretty similar to that Japan place, which is why I mentioned it. We eat a lot of rice and fish, with chopsticks and not a fork and knife. And our buildings and houses tend to be made of paper and wood.

I should think paper and wood wouldn't lend itself particularly well to architecture, but clearly your people have found a method that works.

My own home is known for military prowess-- though lately, we've become a bit lax.

You'd be surprised! Of course, the whole military village thing means stuff gets blown up all the time anyways, but that would happen even if they were made of concrete.

Lax? Why's that?

I should think it's a clever idea-- after all, such materials would harm far less people than concrete.

Lax, because our latest conquest hasn't gone so well. The military occupation of Bajor was, alas, unsuccessful. A slight failure after a string of successes-- inevitable, I'm afraid.

Mm, true, and easier to find the supplies in the nearby forest. Konoha means "hidden in leaves" -- we've got all the supplies we need right there.

Well, that ... sucks? [ For all she knows, Garak's people might be peaceful conquerors, or they might be the type to raze the planet to the ground and eat everything living on it. Who knows! ] I guess that means it's time to take a step back and regroup.
