[Somewhat sheepishly:]

Oh-- right. I guess I got a little carried away, huh?

Aphra. [Ahsoka has never been one for being overly formal unless the situation demands it.]

Archaeologist. So yes, I am and no to the other kind of doctor.

[Ahsoka eyes widen in understanding-- archaeologist. Someone who digs up relics that no longer exist.

"No wonder she's so fascinated by Jedi stuff," is a traitorous thought her brain can't help but supply. In her stupor, all she can think to say is:]

Oh, it's a lot of fun. [ energized by the subject, aphra visibly perks up. ]

I get to fly all over the galaxy looking for lost artifacts. When I find them, I clean them up, fix them if I have to, and find them a new home, one where they'll be appreciated. It's sort of like giving them a new lease on life.

[ translation: she fixed up clone war era weaponry to sell to shafted clone war era droids. then she sold those same things to darth vader. ]

Yeah? Like what kind of artifacts? Have you found anything cool?

[archaeotechnician]

Anything valuable. A lot of people think because something's old it's immediately valuable. Mm-mn. [ aphra gives an emphatic shake of her head. ] Not everything does, and, hey, I have to eat.

I did come across the ruins of a Jedi temple once. I mean, that thing had to have been abandoned for a millennium. Didn't show up in any records. It was a complete accident that I came across it.

[resnipstance]

A millennium...

[Abruptly, it occurs to her that she never asked what year Aphra's from.]

Uh. Hang on. I have to check, but-- what year is it, for you?

He was. He left about two months ago. Why, do you know him?

Yeah. Yeah, I know Luke. Who else is here? The princess, the wookiee…?

[ and *looks at smudged writing on hand* ham polo ]

Leia was here, yes. But she's also left, along with Luke. As for who's still here from your time-- only a smuggler by the name of Han Solo. I'm not sure if you're acquainted, but he's a decent guy.

From about four or five years before you, there's a twi'lek pilot named Hera Syndulla.

And as for people from my time, there's me, Luke's father and my old master, Anakin Skywalker, Anakin's old master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and finally Senator Padmé Amidala.

Then there's a Jedi from about four thousand years before all of us, by the name of Vima Sunrider, and two guys from about thirty or forty years into the future by the name of Finn and Poe. The same Finn whose butt I'm here to kick, incidentally.

[ han solo. oh, wouldn't she love to drop another nest of wasp worms on him.

han never figured high on her list of priorities, however, so he along with every other name ahsoka mentions is promptly set aside. all but two. skywalker and amidala. how very interesting. ]

Luke must have been ecstatic to meet his dad. [ and his mom, but that thought aphra keeps between her teeth. the jedi went to a lot of trouble keeping amidala's pregnancy a secret. aphra doubts luke himself knew of his royal naboo lineage. she's not going to out herself as being privy to such sensitive detail. ]
