Do I want to ask?

[ staring at it. traitor of a microwave. these things don't usually happen to Cisco, think of the impression he's leaving. ]
well, the good news is it can be easily fixed.
no subject
Except to ask how you - managed whatever it is you did. So I know not to do it in the future.
[he has to tease a little]
no subject
[ but he smiles, checks the thing and hums ]
I think I gave it a little too much credit. obviously he can't take the amount of power I put him up for.
[ not yet ready to be fully Cisco'ed :( ]
I'll have to turn it down a notch.
no subject
Probably. I can't say I've ever seen a microwave do what it was doing, so - maybe two notches, just to be safe. Until he, uh - can handle the power you want him to have.
no subject
listen, once I get this baby working, it'll be more powerful and it'll allow you guys to make the best toasts in the fleet. So maybe I overdid it with the power but in a few minutes, I'll have that fixed and -
[ looking around ]
at least nothing caught on fire.
no subject
Far be it from me to interfere. I know you know what you're doing.
[he also looks around, and with a wry noise] Hopefully it stays that way.
no subject
[ and hank let him tell you, she's able ]
so what are you been up to? any luck with finding solutions to the whole post apocalyptic moon problem?
no subject
[he hopes. But he also knows better than to assume.
He blows out a sigh and shakes his head] Mostly, the ice cream project and - you know, studying samples from the moon. I know almost nothing about terraforming, though, and what I do is all concepts and hypothetical theories.
no subject
[ he gives him a little look that's followed by a little nod. it's his life on the line here, dude. ]
Man, I have a friend from home that I think would have solved alla this in less than fifteen minutes. This is really her sort of thing. She's the smartest cookie I know.
[ smiling above his work ]
These labs would be like Disneyworld to her.
[ he misses caitlin more than usual but maybe it's due to the fact the last Caitlin he saw was that drama queen Killer Frost ]
no subject
[he's got your back, man. Unless it comes down to just getting yelled at, then they're both probably screwed. Women are scary]
Yeah? She sounds impressive, if this sort of thing is falls into her expertise. I can't say I know anyone like that back home - it's really just me and Charles, and we're both geneticists.
no subject
[ he throws a screw at his direction before grabbing another ]
Everything falls into Caitlin's expertise, she's the best bio-engineer out there. I don't think I've met a Charlie yet.
[ since there's no way the guy's name is Charles ]
no subject
She's a bio-engineer? Geez, I keep hearing about all these impressive scientists in fields that - aren't really popular in my time. I'm jealous.
[and - this laugh is a little choked on, oh goodness]
If you ever meet him, please call him that. But his name is Charles Xavier. He's on the Heron.
no subject
[ firm nod ]
never tell I said that if she does come here.
no subject
[he knows better than to drop those kind of comments Cisco, pls]
no subject
[ hand to his heart ]
ok. I think I'm done.
[ lifting the microwave ]
it's definitely not going to explode on us again.
no subject
[he has to ask, because if it explodes it'll likely be on someone who will get mad]
no subject
[ opening the microwave! ]
no subject
no subject
ha - it's working. I knew it could take this amount of energy.
[ 40 seconds later he pulls out something that does have the smell and look of a toast and bites into it ]
ok - it's not perfect since the gel is not exactly peanut butter but this stuff is legit. want half of mine?
no subject
[because of course he's going to ask the nerd questions. He eyes what comes out of the microwave for a long moment before he huffs a little, good-natured] I won't say no to food, sure.
no subject
[ nuts but hear him out ]
It's space tech though so I thought it might take it - this is a healthy 64%.
no subject
Space tech isn't as robust as it seems. Good to know.
no subject
[ which could be disappointing and in some ways, it is but it also isn't because ]
which means, when we find the important flaws, we might be able to fight back against the alien jackasses who brought us here.
