[ Leto doesn't spend a lot of time on the ship. He's either in the cargo hold, meditating or practicing his other arts. Often, while he is meditating, his voice drifts to the other rooms, flickering between male and female, young and old.

. . . Or he could be found near the cockpit looking over the instruments. He doesn't have the piloting augment but he familiarizes himself with the buttons and mechanisms, remembering days long past when he was a pilot. In a strange, abstract way, he misses it.

. . . Or he is in the kitchen with a large kettle of tea. One of the few brews that he continues to have (and can stomach). Food continues to disagree with his body and Leto does a decent job of pretending he still eats and sleep like a normal person, but he's glad that his new symbiosis has yet to wrestle away the enjoyment of a hot cup of tea.

[using the excuse of multiple projects, Hank's hunkered down in the lab since the beginning of the month, hard at work. It isn't hiding like last month; he leaves the door open most of the time, welcoming anyone to come speak with him if they want to. He's good at multitasking.

You could also catch him when he steps out of the lab to wander into the kitchen, when he remembers he should eat. More often than not, you'll find him sitting at the table, giving whatever he's about to eat deplorable looks . . . or he has his head down on the table, catching a very brief nap while he doesn't think anyone's around.

However - you might not recognize him at all. Who's this tall nerdy kid walking around, and where's the big blue furry guy? Someone finally gave in and went back to using the serum; though at night, you still might catch him when it wears off.

Or maybe something entirely different happened, and you want to wildcard it]

[ Kara is the kind of friend who just drops by—she figures she'll stumble on someone she wants to hang out with, even if it's not the person she came over for. When she comes over to the Blameless, though, she heads pretty much straight to Hank's lab, interested to see what he's working on. She knocks on the open door and starts talking before she sees him ]

Hank? Are you around? I'm crashing your lab.

[bent over his notes, Hank's head jerks up when he hears someone entering the lab, his mind already prepared with - he isn't sure what, but taking the serum again also invites the ire of a few people, and he's always prepared to deal with that . . . well, as much as he wants to.

But it's Kara, and he relaxes immediately. He's pretty sure she won't chew him out for going back to this]

Ah - Kara, hey. Crash away.

[ Nope, Kara will not get on his case about this at all ]

Hey! You—Hey! You got the serum working! That's great! How's it going so far?

[bless you, Kara]

It's - going? I like not having claws.

I can see where that might be a benefit, yeah. I mean, I can barely type correctly when my nails grow out let alone with actual, you know, claws. So any special occasion, or you just felt like it? How long will it last?

I was getting used to it, but - [he shrugs a shoulder] No special occasion, I just . . . like I told you, I prefer being like this. And - it's weaker than what I can make back home, but I did that on purpose. So at night, I'll end up like this if I don't - you know, overwhelm anything.

Sounds like you've got a good plan going, then.

What else is new?

Mm, it's a - compromise, I guess. [wryly] Hopefully, it'll mean I won't get into as many arguments.

[god, what else is new. He shuts his notes and pushes them aside, getting the potential distraction out of the way]

Ah - someone from home arrived? [yes, that's a good way to put it] She's been here for a week or so.

Really? Is that good, bad, or indifferent?

Complicated, I think. For - all of us, honestly.

Oh.

[ she hopes he'll expand on that but figures she doesn't have any right to ask ]

I hope it's... as smooth as possible, then.

[she has every right to ask, but he will get up to head over to the door to close it. It's personal, not just for him]

So do I. It's just . . . they all need time. Their history with her is . . . it goes deeper than what I have. [he huffs, faintly amused] And they're all incredibly stubborn, so who knows how long it'll take.

So it's more of a concern with Charles and Erik?

Because of everything that's happened, yeah. I mean - I'm involved too, and Raven and I have our issues, too, but - we're talking, at least.

Talking's good—a start, anyway. I hope it goes okay, really.

Thanks. [he smiles a little, and then dryly] The world isn't going to end in some way tomorrow, so we have time, for once. We're taking advantage of it.

That's the good part of the world not ending here tomorrow. The bad part is actually having time to think about everything else.

It's the talking part that's the hardest. I've . . . done the thinking part plenty.

I'm generally better at doing.

Though Winn was mad at me last week for a few days. It was awful.

He was? Did - something happen?

During my... I don't know. Post-memory-regaining haze, I told Kitty something I thought was funny, but it was about Winn and he thought it was embarrassing, and that I should've talked to him before talking about him.

He wasn't wrong, it just didn't occur to me.

Ah. [he winces a little in understanding] But you two worked it out?

Yeah, we cleared the air.

Which was good because the only thing about having super hearing while your best friend and his girlfriend sleep in the room next to you is being in a fight while it's happening.
