hank mccoy; ota!
You could also catch him when he steps out of the lab to wander into the kitchen, when he remembers he should eat. More often than not, you'll find him sitting at the table, giving whatever he's about to eat deplorable looks . . . or he has his head down on the table, catching a very brief nap while he doesn't think anyone's around.
However - you might not recognize him at all. Who's this tall nerdy kid walking around, and where's the big blue furry guy? Someone finally gave in and went back to using the serum; though at night, you still might catch him when it wears off.
Or maybe something entirely different happened, and you want to wildcard it]
action
Hank? Are you around? I'm crashing your lab.
no subject
But it's Kara, and he relaxes immediately. He's pretty sure she won't chew him out for going back to this]
Ah - Kara, hey. Crash away.
no subject
Hey! You—Hey! You got the serum working! That's great! How's it going so far?

Knocking is strange, though, because most of the people who come to visit just waltz right in - not that he minds, of course, but knocking means it's either someone new, or -
He opens the door and there's the other answer. It's Erik.
He tries not to look like a deer in the headlights and almost manages it]
—ah. Erik, hello. Uh - come in. [and he steps aside so he can]

she pauses when she notices the lab door open and the back of a not-so-familiar head at work, slipping in quietly to see what he's doing. she's not trying to sneak up on him or anything, but -- assassin background. it's possible she does anyway.]

He turns around and - hello. He startles and puts a hand to his chest, and makes a note that maybe he should pay a little more attention to all those sounds he's ignoring]
Geez - hi. [at least he doesn't look angry. If anything, he looks sheepish because of his reaction] Can I help you?
no subject
[she smiles, brief but real. a little rueful at herself, and a little amused at his reaction -- but not maliciously.]
I never spent much time in here. Thought I'd change that. [and she follows that with a little wave of one hand.] I'm Sara.

She slips in through the open door and lets it close behind her, only because this has become her safe space. She doesn't let her skin change just yet, however, and a part of her freezes when she sees something too familiar, pale skin where there ought to be blue and glasses in place all over again. A part of her is disappointed, but another part yearns to understand. Hank didn't have what she did; she didn't have Brotherhood, or Charles. She has to wrap her mind around that and not scold.
Instead, she walks over to the bunk and flops down, frowning as she stares up into space - hah. ]
I talked to him.
no subject
The greeting dies on his lips at what she says, and - he isn't sure what to think. "Him" could mean anyone, but his mind immediately goes to Charles. She wouldn't speak to Erik - not this soon, and he puts what he's working on down to come over and join her on the bed]
How did it go?
no subject
Relaying what happened with Charles isn't easy either, but she knows that she needs to talk about it. Bottling it all up inside would do no more than cause her pain and she's had enough of that in her lifetime. Being able to speak her mind is important to her, and she basks in that for a moment before she manages to muster her voice. ]
It was fine. We talked, and he explained things.

night time!
And hope that someone else is up at the ridiculous hours he tends to entertain, poking around here and there both on his ship...and Hank's! Now where are you, you wonderful blue beauty. ]
no subject
And - well, he finds himself wandering into the kitchen to get a drink. Not that food wasn't appealing either, but he didn't want to end up awake until the early hours of the morning. Again]
no subject
No, what makes him do a double-take behind his shades (yes, he wears shades at night because he's cool like that) is that he is blue....and not Kurt. ]

Hello...? Anyone home?
WE DON'T NEED BLUE OR LOCATIONS
Ah - I'm here, hi. [. . . as for her not being human he doesn't even blink. He's so used to it] Are you looking for someone?
\:D/
Oh! Hi! Yes-- I was. I mean-- not someone in particular, just, er. Someone in general?
[She shakes her head as if to clear it. This is not a way to make a good first impression.]
I wanted to get to know the people on this ship. It's new, right? And it just occurred to me that I don't know anyone on it, so... [she trails off, slightly awkward.]

but today she's in the lab, sitting perched on a counter. kate's toying with some sort of sharp-ended surgical instrument. balancing it in her hand, then twirling its dull edge on the tip of her finger. hawkeye doesn't even look up when he enters the room. ]
it was nice knowing u drift fleet remember him fondly
Of course, he might pick up on something being wrong when he steps into the lab and he's immediately set on edge. Not the kind that comes from a fight about to start, oh no. It's that special kind, the kind guys get when there's an angry woman around and he's two seconds away from facing their wrath.
He stops short, and. Stays there. Yes, over here]

late tagging is late, Lab, action
Making his way on board the Blameless, Remy tapped his knuckles against the door of the lab before stepping in.] Dr McCoy, I presume. [Ha, he so funny.]
no subject
The greeting gives him pause; he's been called that all of a handful of times since he arrived here and they were all in jest, and it wasn't a title he handed out with introductions. Hell, he'd been called captain more often. So, either someone had told this visitor about Hank or . . . ]
That's me. [he offers a slightly confused but friendly smile] Can I help you?
