Just - no sandwich bags, please. It doesn't have to be escalated past what it already is.

Ultimately your crewman is in control of his own fate. The outcome's my responsibility, but it's his choice if he's going to violate the security of my ship.
If he's lucky, my captain will get to him before I do. [Hi, you're speaking to the bad cop. Vision is the good cop.]
video;
I understand. And - again, in no way am I telling you not to defend your crew. I'd never tell anyone not to defend themselves.
I rather it not all end in someone's death, though. Instead, maybe there's way for our crews to work together to prevent any of this from escalating?

I'm perfectly happy to talk it out, as it were. Should I be the one to encounter him, I won't use lethal force.
It would be better for all involved if the situation should not need to arise, however, as I cannot in good conscience guarantee the actions of the rest of my crew.

And I wouldn't expect you to. Hello again, Vision.
But - I would like to sit down with you and discuss this in detail, if we could. Once everything's - uh, calmed down, of course.
video;
I'd be glad to. We have other information to share as well, and may as well combine it into a single meeting. I have hope we can come to a mutually satisfactory conclusion.
video;
He's a tense, nervous mess, but his shoulders do relax a little, since it seems like he and Vision are on the same page]
Mm, that's true, and that works for me. [a nod, and a sigh] I hope we can, too.
video;
If we were to punish people here for the crimes they committed elsewhere, many of us would need punishment. It's better to leave it in the past.
video;
I agree completely. Or at least - leave it until one returns home and can actually do something about it within their own world's rules.
video;
[Now if something bad should happen between individuals here, that might be a different story....]

They seem a bit too [bullishly stubborn? bloodthirsty?] intensely passionate about their feud, however.
video;
If both of them can see reason and the rest of us can get a better understanding as to what's going on between them, maybe it's something to work towards. I know talking things out sometimes isn't enough.

[
Damn shame they can't settle it over a Halo tournament.]video;

Well - we have engineers here, so if that's their preferred method of fighting maybe something can be created - albeit on a much smaller and . . . safer scale. Not that I want to encourage them fighting with each other, but I wouldn't want to deny them a possible outlet, either.
video;
Tenno would prefer to avoid combat [or they wouldn't be having this discussion right now because they would have already beat the pulp out of each other] but it wouldn't hurt to have something like that in the Fleet to resolve differences regardless.
video;
Mm, that's true. [he's all on board for them avoiding combat, there's no doubt about that] I'll mention it to a few engineers I know, once this is . . . settled. See what they think.
