[The set of his shoulders slumps minutely.] I'm sorry. That's not what I wanted, I simply--I suppose I don't understand how you can look that mirror and not see what I see. [He's always been so proud of his own appearance, defiantly so at times.]

[She feels like she disappointed and saddened him, and it's a terrible sort of feeling. She circles her arms around him, head resting on his shoulder. Basically just a steady stream of hugs available for Kurt all the time.] You honestly think I'm as pretty as Jean and Dazzler?

[Saddened, yes. She'd have to do a lot worse to disappoint him, especially now when he's so proud and happy to see the woman she's becoming in peace time. His arms go around her easy as breathing, head turning so he can speak softly into her ear.] Mhm. Can I tell you a secret?

[He pauses, as thought gathering up his courage to admit something horrible.] I never have understood why everyone went mad over Jean. [Kurt you troll.]

I know you can't see it right now, but I hope you can feel me rolling my eyes at you. [She pulls back with a smirk.] Don't think I haven't caught on to your anti-redhead thing. I know you, Kurt Darkholme.

[He grinning shamelessly when she leans back, eyes alight with mischief. Hands somewhat free, he gestures with one and his tail to articulate his points.] Can you blame me? Look at my mother and then say you can blame me for preferring brunettes.

Hey, if you're going to have mommy issues with the ladies you go for, that's the direction to have them. [Away, not towards.] Of course your sister's a brunette. [She doesn't have to use her kid gloves when playing with Kurt, right?]

Woah! One of his sisters? Who are these multiple sisters and was it Rogue? [Making an unintentional face here that's somewhere between this is gross and tell me more!]

Thankfully for the sake of my remaining mental capacity, nein. The woman who raised him had a daughter named Amanda. Apparently he didn't feel like going very far to find a lover. [And though he's grinning, Kitty's probably close enough to feel the random 'ew ew ew' twitches he's trying to suppress.] Needless to say, the other Kurt here can never know this.

[Mouthing "wow" at him.] I wonder if other Kurt has a sister named Amanda. ...Or a girlfriend named Amanda. [So much teasing. But her smile turns more fond.] Are you protective of him? [Because that would be sweet. She definitely is.]

He'd better not. I'm giving serious thought to avoiding all women named Amanda on principle. [The grin fades from Kurt's face as the question brings to mind another version of himself he'd met; a young boy named Kurt Waggoner. He was younger than the other Kurt here and so excited to see another version of himself. Darkholme had shoved him away, and then watched the boy die in front of him.] I suppose I am.
