I don't remember a lot of stuff. [Shrug.] My memories are gone. Everyone thinks Compliance took them. They're probably right.

Compliance?

[Misty frowns.]

What does that mean? It don't sound very good.

[pain_train]

Department of Compliance. They deal with anti-social behavior and make sure everyone behaves. [Another shrug.] I guess they didn't have stuff like that in the past on Earth. Huh.

[mistyday]

No, not that I've ever heard of. I don't think witches would tolerate that none though, even if someone tried it on us.

[pain_train]

It's... good that you don't.

[mistyday]

[Misty nods.]

I'm sorry, that that happened to you.

[pain_train]

It's okay. I survived and I'm okay. [She is so not okay.]

[mistyday]

Good. That's...good.

[Not knowing what else to say about that, she offers Wrath a small smile and decides maybe a change of topic is best.]

Can I see what you're paintin today?

Sure!

[She tilts the frame so it's visible--it's the cityscape Vision told her about, the cracked dome over buildings that have had neat holes seemingly cut through them. The effect is a bit eerie.]

Thanks! This is something I dream about sometimes.

[She studies the painting for a minute, silent and solemn.]

A lot of times, yeah. They just don't really make much sense. What about you?

[mistyday]

[She nods slowly.]

Especially the ones about fire.

Fire dreams sound like they'd be really scary...

I try to forget those, if I can.

Sometimes forgetting things isn't bad. [Maybe it's a good thing she forgot everything she did. She still wonders about that.]

Too bad we can't choose what to forget and what to remember.

Maybe if you do, then you don't remember wanting to forget. [It's always a question, if she did this to herself somehow.]

Yeah, it's all really confusing. I try to just not think about it at all.

Can't say I blame you. I bet the paintin' helps though, don't it?

Sometimes? I can paint impressions of what I recall. But sometimes it's difficult. Better than not knowing anything though.
