[Apollo looks... a little flustered? Slightly bewildered? Like he might have accidentally exploded cooking supplies?]

I'm trying this cooking thing. I'm pretty sure it's not dangerous to eat, but does anyone want to come and be a guinea pig? These gel things are making roasts a lot fucking harder than they should be...

[On the Bishop, Apollo has taken over the kitchen for now. He manages to look surprisingly domestic, bumming around in ship standard provided clothing and hair pulled up into a ponytail that bobs along to whatever music he's imagining as he 'cooks'.

Cooking occasionally involves eye lasers. Which doesn't work on the gels half as well as he hoped it would.]

Hm? Flying, laser eyes, super tough and strong, I'm pretty fast, I can sort of explode energy out of myself? I'm immune to heat and light, like, my idea of a treat is going up to the sun for a bit of a walk about. Which the others would get upset about, because I'd come back over charged and glowing and leaving scorch marks with my feet.

[He's horrifically open about what he is and can do.]

Wow. That's actually kind of intimidating. And everyone was giving me trouble about having a bunch of powers.

I was designed to be the most powerful post-human on our planet. I can't really take any credit for it, everything about me was manufactured out of some poor bastard who volunteered to give up his life to become something new.

[He offers out the bowl again.]

I added a bit more sugar, what do you think?

[He sets down the bowl and starts rummaging through the pantry and cupboards.]

Or maybe just some kind of spice.

We have a lot of overlapping powers, but some different ones, too. I fly, have laser eyes (obviously), super strength, super speed, super hearing, x-ray vision, freeze breath, invulnerability... I haven't tried walking on the sun. I don't think the lack of atmosphere would agree with me? But I don't know.

I just don't breathe when I'm in space. Eating and sleeping are both optional as well, but I like doing them.

[He pulls out something, sniffs it and pulls a face and sets it aside.]

Not that. X-Ray vision sounds really disturbing... freeze breath? Seriously? Is it minty fresh?

I can control the x-ray vision pretty well, except it doesn't go through lead, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't give anyone cancer? I hope not.

And my freeze breath is only minty fresh if I've just brushed my teeth?

Lets hope not. Cancer isn't fun.

I'm almost disappointed about that. Have you considered using your freeze breath to make ice cream though?

When Hank gets the formula going, I'm sure it'll come up.

Though I don't think I've actually mentioned it to him.

Also... with me, I'm kind of not totally sure I want everyone to know about what I can do. My sister would be so mad if she showed up here and it was common knowledge. But I also don't really see the point in hiding it all the time.

I... can't offer much of an opinion there. Everyone on my world knows who I am and what I do. My wedding was covered by several international magazines so...

[He gives her a helpless shrug.]

I don't remember not being Apollo and I've never had any real reason to hide myself. But I get that some worlds, it's really important to not let people know.

Yeah, I already went through the whole "going through loved ones to get to you" thing and I don't really want to leave those opportunities open. Also, I'd like to keep my job. Which isn't as much of a thing here but my boss could show up... and you know.

So, you're basically a celebrity? Do those magazines have "Superheroes: they're just like us!" sections? "And here's Apollo's grocery bag ripping!"

Ah, yeah. I can see that. I'm lucky in that regard, all my near and dear are super heroes as well. Including my baby girl, Jenny.

[Aaaand, there it goes. He reaches for his pocket.]

She's nearly seven, she's the most gorgeous kid.

[Yup. He's one of those parents.]

[ luckily, she's genuinely interested in kids. I mean, she's no french bulldog puppy, but a 7 year old will do ]

Well, no, but she's super powered.

[Jenny is a pretty, asian girl of seven with pigtails, wearing a plastic tiara, a union jack tee shirt and with a pale blue glow around her hands and feet as she beams up at the camera.]

She's the spirit of the age, Jenny Quantum. But I wouldn't trust her with a pot plant, let alone the kitten she wanted.

She's absolutely adorable! And Jenny Quantum is basically the best name. What are her powers?

I'm sorry you're separated, then, but I hope that it's like they say—that time isn't passing and we're not missing out on anything. Otherwise my sister's going to be pissed.

I really hope that's the case, because she's six and she's already had one parent walk out on her, I don't want her thinking I did the same.
