Hey! Soooooo since we're all stuck here, and going outside on this planet kinda sucks bigtime right now, I've been making it a project of mine to try and learn as much as I can about the different cultures of the other worlds people here are from! Particularly Earth, because there's so many of you! Someone told me the collective noun is "Earthlings"? Anyway.

I've been trawling through the media library, but to be honest, I'm not very good at sitting and reading for long periods of time. So I figured, why not just ask you guys instead?

Tell me one (or more!) thing about your home world that you think is culturally significant. It can be traditional, religious, social, or pop culture is fair game too! After all, it's no fun when people are making pop culture references that fly over my head.

The only rule is that you can't say the same thing as someone else. You ready? Go!

Oh! That sounds like grav-ball. We have that. Though, I've never really played it... never really had time for sports, come to think of it.

nah it's mostly for guys

i mean there are groups for girls but mostly we're too smart to willingly get ourselves beat up

no i don't

There's a few of us here. It wouldn't surprise me.

so what was the training like

[resnipstance]

Umm. Well, let's see. When you're a kid, you kinda have almost the same schooling as everyone else. I think, anyway. Reading, writing, geography, history, mathematics. All that stuff. But in the place of extracurriculars like sports and music, you have stuff like meditation or Force attunement or balance training or running.

Once you get a bit older, things get more specific. Morning classes become dedicated to Force studies. Midday classes become political sciences, languages, and sociology. After lunch, the rest of the afternoon is dedicated to combat training. Oh yeah, and you're expected to meditate five times a day on top of that. In your own time.

so what was it like? jedi stuff

... I liked it. Jedi are essentially intergalactic peacekeepers. I felt like I was helping people, and I had a purpose.

what kind of stuff did you get to do?

[resnipstance]

All kinds of stuff. We fought on the front lines on the ground sometimes, on planets that were being forcibly occupied. Sometimes we had space fleet missions, where we fought against planetary blockades in our fighter squadron units so aid or trade could get through to the people below. Sometimes we had to sneak behind enemy lines to get a piece of intel or sabotage a weapons factory. Sometimes it was just diplomatic missions, or being someone's security detail. Sometimes it was investigating government corruption or terrorism. Sometimes it was jailbreaking someone from an enemy prison. Really... it's a long list.

It's okay. I've pretty much grown up with it, so it's something I'm used to.
