[The video clicks on to an unusual-looking man with maroon skin and a yellow gem set into his forehead. Though he's been a familiar sight around the Windrose, the Vision doesn't tend to post much so he wouldn't be surprised if there are many unfamiliar with him.

This is a special occasion, however. There's even what looks like a cake in the background.]

There was a slight time differential between my last memories of home and the calendar here. Namely, I seem to have missed the month of June entirely. Given that lack, today is the three hundred sixty-fifth day since I was created.

Accordingly, there is cake and ice cream on the Windrose for any who should care to visit.

[He pauses and furrows his brow slightly.]

I cannot vouch for the taste of either, but I assure you they received the highest ratings from the shops they were purchased at.

I admit it's a fascinating problem, and one which we can more fully test in space than we could otherwise. Perhaps the next sun will be blue and we can verify or disprove certain factors, for example.

May I ask if Krypton had a yellow sun at approximately the same distance as Earth's?

No, but we didn't have powers there. It had a red sun—a dying sun. My mother knew that the Earth's yellow sun would give me powers, though.

Whyever would your people have evolved to take advantage of a sun they didn't have?

I wish I knew? Maybe it's less direct evolution and more a side effect. Maybe something like... to survive with a weak, red sun, we're more... I don't know, perceptive to the radiation? Which somehow translates to powers? I'd ask my mother if I could, but I can't.

[He looks concerned at that. Almost like it's giving him a headache.]

If she even knows. Your...cousin has the same abilities and dependency on the sun?

Exactly the same. He knows even less than I do. My aunt and uncle—not his parents—showed up on Earth and are the same, but we're fighting, so...

Hm. Perhaps it was a genetic modification, if the society was advanced enough for interstellar travel.
