[The video clicks on to an unusual-looking man with maroon skin and a yellow gem set into his forehead. Though he's been a familiar sight around the Windrose, the Vision doesn't tend to post much so he wouldn't be surprised if there are many unfamiliar with him.

This is a special occasion, however. There's even what looks like a cake in the background.]

There was a slight time differential between my last memories of home and the calendar here. Namely, I seem to have missed the month of June entirely. Given that lack, today is the three hundred sixty-fifth day since I was created.

Accordingly, there is cake and ice cream on the Windrose for any who should care to visit.

[He pauses and furrows his brow slightly.]

I cannot vouch for the taste of either, but I assure you they received the highest ratings from the shops they were purchased at.

I'm unable to tell whether it's "affected" me as well, though there was that week I spend in deep meditation. I certainly hadn't intended to do that.

If you experience any malfunctions like mine, believe me, you'll know. I hope you don't have anything like that happen though.

As do I - though I'll be sure to let you know if I should experience anything that seems to be related.

Thank you - I'm trying to keep incident reports, when I can, to see if there's any sort of pattern to the glitches. My suspicion is that they're used as a... Prod of sorts, to get us to be more interesting to the audience but I don't know that for sure, of course.

That would make a certain amount of sense. Perhaps it increases their revenue.

Well, considering I got a spike in my payments after those incidents - I would say so, yes.

That's not even an attempt to be subtle on their parts.

I don't think subtlety is really their forte.

I'd have to agree, of course.

[Her cheeks are threatening to turn red, though more with displeasure than embarrassment. There had been a spike, too, after she slept with Wrath and she doesn’t want that occasion tainted by audience interference.]

Sometimes I wish they were a little more subtle. Ever since the beach planet, I’ve done my best to ignore ratings.

[Come to think of it, that planet had seen some of his highest ratings. It must have been the swimsuit. ~~Definitely not the conversation about his lack of wang.~~]

I track them as a subject of interest, but I must say I've yet to try actually manipulating them. I have a feeling it might backfire horribly.

Perhaps not. After all, isn’t that what they always say they want from us? To be entertaining?

They do, yes. But I can't say I understand their definition of the word.

Although, to be fair, I don't find most television entertaining in general.

[She tilts her head curiously.]

Any particular reason why?

I suppose I'd rather observe humans in reality than watch a scripted drama - and I do mean actual reality, not this sort of program we're supposed to be in.

Additionally, I am not the target audience.

But fiction tells you a lot about humanity as well - how we perceive ourselves, our cultural values, that sort of thing. And of course there are documentaries as well, if that's of more interest.

[She rubs her chin thoughtfully, though. It's a good point, about him not being the target audience.]

If you were the intended audience - what sort of things would you be interested in seeing?

I do enjoy fiction in general. Perhaps it's that I process text so much faster the slower pacing of television. I can usually sit through a movie. [He shrugs.] It could also be the general lack of television available to us. One can only watch the same episode of I Love Lucy so many times. I was only on Earth for several weeks.

[It's a good question.]

I like hopeful stories, I suppose. The kind that show humanity at its best.

I've also been impressed with ones that have intricate art, or use a new manner to tell an old tale.

I'm beginning to realize how spoiled I am with all the options we have at home. Only so many times I can handle demon space marines.

[Ah, but that gets a smile.]

Do you know, I think I have that one memorized by now.

[It is Wrath's favorite.]

I probably do too at this point. I can't say no to Wrath whenever she wants to watch it.

[Her giant soft spot for Wrath is very apparent.]

Apparently there's an entire series of them where she's from. It's difficult to tell whether I should be impressed or horrified.

Perhaps a little bit of both.

Perhaps, yes. Humanity will never fail to impress me.

I would say the same but well... [she grins] I'm more than a little biased.

You have a very good excuse for that bias, I think.
