`[She grabs the mug and slurps at it. Mmm, caffiene. Oh, it's Zhas. He's the culprit...]

That's the idea!

Do you want me to warm that up.

[first things first, cold coffee grosses him out.]

Oh?

[she stares around, and then blinks. she gets it. she stands up.]

Don't worry about it! I guess I can put this in the... microwave... [this kitchen is so small, she can bustle off to do that and still chatter at him.]

Well, my idea was that we could start microfarming! I collected a bunch of plant samples from the forest - anything I thought would grow onboard - and took notes on them. From here, I figure we can analyze them for what's edible by our standards, medicinally useful, and so on. Then we could start growing things on the ship!

[oh, good. he doesn't have to ask, she'll just start talking.

he decides to just... sit down in the chair she's no longer occupying, looking over her designs and all the plants on the table... there's not a lot of room, but vertical arrangements could help with that.

so she gets some nodding in approval. seems sound.]

I figure it'll be good for morale too, to have some greenery around!

[a moment later, the microwave dings. She takes out her coffee, comes back over and plunks herself down... In the seat opposite him.]

Do you know Kaneis? He has someone specializing in working with plants on his ship. And an engineer has arrived, I've asked him to look at developing grow lights.

[nodding, nodding... he signs, 'need more--' followed by a gesture that probably means space, or room. indicating something large as he spreads his arms. ]

[There's the usual beat while she parses that, and then a nod.]

More room would be better, but I think we should get started on a small scale if nothing else. It'll give us time to work out the kinks as they come up. Then we can see if we can get the whole fleet started.

[he looks a little surprised at that... he hadn't considered doing this with anyone else. but he doesn't seem opposed to the idea, necessarily. it makes him think.

he picks up her pencil, makes a couple of marks for the boxes to be deeper.]

[She's happy to sit back and slurp her coffee, leaving him to look over the plans at leisure.]
