Captain's Log 03 - Science!

Who: Jim Kirk & You
Broadcast: YES
Action: For the Tourist, sure
When: Now

Good day everyone, this is Jim Kirk speaking, of the Tourist. If I could have your attention for one moment -

I have a request - I'm looking for someone who is good with chemical analysis of biological materials. Namely flora from the moon. My ship isn't equipped for an analysis and I'll be the first to admit that such analysis has never been my forte. I would like a partner in figuring out what chemicals, exactly, have affected the planet. I believe this is one of the first steps in helping the people here recover.

Feel free to contact me on this line or come to the Tourist and request to see me.

Thank you for you time. Kirk out.

[ ooc: I have gotten permission from the mods for this as well what chemicals would be discovered from the flora Kirk has been collecting. If you are interested in the analyzing, I will happily share that information :) ]

I'm familiar with the metric system. [He hadn't needed to use it in nearly 130 years, but he still remembered it.] I'll use that if I need to reference any measurements.

Just Vash is fine. Mister makes me feel old. [Besides, only two really called him that and one only used it in anger.]

Afraid I don't have much from what I've gathered from speaking with locals and from what I could see from the outside of the equipment. I'm not sure if that will really be enough to help this planet on its own.

Seems like a good idea to me. Feel free to share the information I give you with anyone else.

Now I'm a pilot so I can bring this information to you if you'd like or are you on the planet at the moment?

Alright. I'll be over in an hour or so.

[And sure enough he'll be over with a small stack of papers. Once Kirk has a chance to look though some is stories and information Vash has gotten about the terraforming from natives. Others will be figures on the terraforming equipment itself. Measurements and options he's ruled out or thought it could be listed out.

Vash himself is a fairly tall man, although looking taller than he is thanks to his upright hair style. Mostly made of arms and legs under his red coat and a smile on his face.]

Kirk, right? Hope this can help out some.

[Vash certainly won't say no to coffee. He always enjoyed the warmth in his hand and stomach.]

You and me both. The heart of any terraforming equipment is usually on the inside. Just looking on the outside won't always tell you much. Except there is something more on the inside. And the ones on this planet look like they could hold a lot on the inside. Or, are empty cases, but I don't think that's likely.

But it does look like these were designed to dig into the ground. [Which was a little different from the majority on his planet.]

Hopefully they will let us in. There are a lot of smart scientists in this Fleet could really help this place, but I can understand them being hesitant. I mean, things have already gotten this bad, any worse and they may not be able to live here anymore.
