[ she will close her book, the hardcover reads something about classic poetry before placing it on her knees and folding her hands primly above it. they could paint a portrait of her like this, every curl is styled and every ounce of her posture is graceful.

Your hair looks amazing! Did you just get it done? Can I see?

A friend named Chloe helped me. Her own hair is entirely blue and I feel entirely in love with it. She was sweet enough to find us hair dye, only I wasn't brave enough to dye it all, do you truly favor it?

[ she turns so she could see, the silver rose pin glimmers in the light ]

Chloe's my shipmate, and of course I favor it. It looks great with you, and blue is one of my favorite colors.

The pin you have in your hair is beautiful, too. Did you buy it on the planet?

Is she? You have such a fine crew, so many of my friends are aboard the Tourist. Chloe and Winn and you -

[ she touches a finger to the pin and shakes her head ]

It came with me from my own realm. The rose is the sigil of my house, I wear it very often.

[ she moves her hair to show her a matching necklace and a ring ]

At the very least until I marry, then my sigil shall be a stag but those look so odd in jewelry - I much prefer roses.

Of course we're friends! I kind of hope you'll see me as a sisterly figure eventually. Sisters are very important.

[ she nods, speaking from experience!! ]

Can't you keep what you like?

I have never had a sister.

[ she smiles ]

But I told you all about my brothers already so you would know that, forgive me.

[ as for the question, well ]

I trust that I shall. I doubt my kingly bethroded would mind a few flowers.

[ in tommen's case, the child won't mind, in joffrey's, well.

he would name it a lady's silliness and she will say, of course you grace, it is so silly, is it not? but they are only flowers and that would be the end of it.

but she already knows she will not have more than a wedding feast with Joffrey.

there is that for comfort. ]

I didn't have one until I was 13, but it's worked out pretty well.

[ she sits and tries to approach questions about Marge's world with genuine curiosity rather than judgment ]

Aren't you still part of your family when you get married? Why not keep things that remind you of them?

When a higborn lady weds a lord, she takes off a cape with her family's sigin and takes his own and that would be her sigil until she dies.

[ a beat ]

My husband is to be a king, I shall wear his sigil and colors proudly as the people expect me to but - if I am wearing a few silver roses as well, I doubt anyone would mind.

I'm sorry if I ask too many questions, or if they seem rude. It's just so different from either place I've lived... I'm just interested. But I don't want to make you feel like a curiosity, so always feel free to tell me if you're sick of me asking things.

[ she doesn't mind kara's curiosity if only because she's being so well-mannered and cautious about it ]

Girls are very different in your world, Winn told me. He said they have the power to decide their fates.

In some—most cases, really. There are still arranged marriages in some places, and women still have to fight for equality in a lot of ways, but we've made a lot of strides. We can have careers and families, or not, if we choose. When people get married, they have to say that they're not being forced into it and that it's their own free will. Any career you can think of, and there's probably a woman doing it alongside the men. The country where I live is kind of big on the whole "free will" thing. It's an important part of our identity there.

It sounds very sweet.

[ and starkly different than westeros where none has free will, not even the king. they are all bound to their titles and their duties and the politics of the realm. she had accepted it long ago. ]

The fleet is quite like that, is it not? there are women captains as well as men.

It's hard, in its own way. There's a lot of history and prejudice to get through, but it's better than it was.

And I feel like the fleet is probably even better, because it doesn't have the same weight of history, you know? People are just people.

Yes, it does seem so.

[ she leans back in her seat, watches the ceiling for a moment before moving to smile at her again ]

kings and queens and ordinary men and women, we are all equal here.

How do you feel about that?

[ said casually, not judgmentally ]

I think it's wonderful.

[ she is not queen of anything here but she has no desire to be, not really. her prize awaits her at home and in the mean time, ]

I find that people think it easier to talk to me when I say we are equal, rather then if they accept me as queen.

Well, yes. That's generally how it works. Same with being a superhero versus just being a regular person. But I'm pretty sure we're all pretty similar underneath the titles.

A - superhero?

[ she touches one of the flowers, traces the petals with a finger before smiling again ]

What is that? it is a funny name.

Oh. Um.

Sometimes there are people with powers beyond what regular people can do. And sometimes those people want to help others with those powers. That's a superhero.

Powers? You mean magic?

[ it is the closest thing that comes to mind ]

They say magic existed in my realm but that it was gone when the dragons disappeared.

[ and now, faced with the dragon queen, she doesn't rule out magic, either. she'd be a fool to try to. ]

Well... at a certain point, it could be considered indistinguishable from magic. But it's more just that some people are born with abilities that are more enhanced than others. Like someone being very tall or very strong. Just... stronger than regular people can be.

You had dragons?

Like a talent of a sort?

[ she tries, evidently, to piece together whatever parallels that exist between her own world and kara's. there aren't many, to be truthful but she does favor the sound of it ]

Years before I was born, yes.

Um.. yeah. Kind of like a talent

[ she stands up... and then floats up off of the ground a bit, casually. guess who can fly! ]

[ she gasps and then gives her an excited applause ]
