[So we've been stuck on the poison moon for a couple months now, so a lot of people probably want to get away from that.

Unfortunately, the only place you really can get away from it besides your own ship is the Iskaulit. So, here's a June Iskaulit mingle!]

You did not strike me as the sort particularly enamored with war. So why this?[The obstacle course indicated with a tilt of the head.]

I'm not. [he says with a nod, confirming. He hates fighting. He hates war even more. But he shrugs and with a wry tone:] But I like to be prepared, just in case. So - [he gestures to the course]

Do you prepare your mind as well as your body?

I'm . . . not sure what you mean.

You may train all you like, until you've built battle into your muscles. But if your mind gets in the way of it, you shall still hesitate.

Hesitation is generally a bad idea.

[he can't help but frown a little, but it's more thoughtful than anything]

That - I know that much.

I wouldn't hesitate. Not when it comes to what I want to protect.

Yet you do not want battle.

Though I have noticed that the reluctant warrior is rather lionized in the stories of your people. That is not so, from whence I come.

[with a huff]

Some of the stories are, and there are others that aren't. But I'm no warrior - I'm just - me.

If you go to war, you are a warrior. Whether you like it or not.

[he smiles a bit wryly]

We're going to have to agree to disagree, then.

[Loki laughs.] And they say I am the liar.

I'm not lying. [a shrug] I've never been to war. Battle, maybe - if you want to look at it that way.

Life is war, when others can look at you and see you are unlike them.

[a little dryly] A couple of months ago I might've agreed with that.

Is it like that on Asgard? [he tilts his head] Is that why you think that way?

And what has changed, since?

[He shrugs carelessly.] Asgardians are a warrior race. Your stories got that right, I believe.

Another world. [he shrugs a shoulder, glancing away briefly] A chance to change our future. There's a lot of things happened that made me rethink how I view it.

[a smile] Yes, but that doesn't answer my question, Loki. I'm familiar with the stories.

No future is set. Surely you know that.

[He smiles back.] Don't be absurd, Hank. Do I look like a warrior to you?

I know that now. But the one we were moving towards was . . . bad.

[it was so bad they had to send someone back in time to try and fix it. #MutantLife]

If I'm a warrior, you certainly are. [he huffs, but it's good-natured]

How fortunate, to have advance warning.

[Haha. Well, that is something of the point.] We both seem to be playing at it. [He's just much, much better at it than you, Hank.]

I don't think they had any other choice.

[he has those sometimes, and the smile widens] So it would seem. Though I imagine you're more experienced at it then I am. [he raises his eyebrows] Having been raised in a warriors' society and all.

Oh? Howso. [This sounds like a story within.]

More to do with my being [He eyes Mr. Babyface speculatively.] nearly fifty times older than you, if anything. But no, I was all knees and elbows and something of an embarrassment.

[He can deliver a piece of the truth so flippantly, because he doesn't think it will be believed. Which is useful.]

As far as I know, changing the past to save the future was the last option they had. [he knows more, certainly, but he isn't going to go into details about it.

And then he just. Looks at Loki, eyebrows raised and amusement on his face. Oh, he believes it, Loki] I was all of that with a pair of prehensile feet. I get it. [and that's the only reason why he's amused - because he understands what that's like]

How did they accomplish such a feat?

[That's unexpected. Perhaps Hank is even more gullible than he originally thought. Has the man forgotten he's the liesmith? It's always a bit disquieting when people believe a truth he's offered because it ought to be though of as a lie. No change of expression, though. He shrugs.] I suppose I was beaten into some sort of useful shape eventually.
