if you bed it, he will come

Who: Sascha & ANYONE
Broadcast: N/A
Action: Everywhere beds lie
When: June

[ Sascha has Learned His Lesson.

One doesn't simply hop into someone's bed while their sleeping and/or naked, because the results in getting kicked in the face. And yelled at a whole lot. No...what one should do is knock first!

...And then hop into their bed while they're asleep.

Lesson. Totally. Learned.

But really let's face it, this guy is an idiot and he most certainly is going to meander around over the course of the month and find those nice, comfy warm beds of yours, Fleeters. SO TRY NOT TO SMACK HIM TOO HARD, he could become even more dumb if you do.

At least he does this with the best intentions right? ]

[ ooc; THIS IS FOR EVERYONE WHO WANTED SASCHA IN THEIR BEDS. Or anyone who wants him in their bed now. They can be awake, asleep, asleep not exactly in their room--anything! Tag in and he will be there. ]
huaaaaagh: (yes hi i'm definitely listening!!)

[Yeah u old n00bs, right back at you]

Oh, uh- In Real Life. It's just a way to separate the virtual world from the usual one.
huaaaaagh: <user name=headset> (waiting for dinner. so hungry.)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-05 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
[....

gonna be one of those nights, isn't it.]

...Question, first. What's the most advanced technology you can think of?
huaaaaagh: <user name=fontech> (can't you accept the compliment?)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-05 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
[yyyyyyyep. one of those nights.]

We should sit down, this'll probably take a while.

[This is worse than talking to his dad back when Nerve Gear was coming out. Trying to explain that level of immersive VR long-distance over the phone was a nightmare.]
huaaaaagh: (wait I'm sorry that sounds important)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-05 09:53 am (UTC)(link)
[wait

wait, no

he meant the floor, or the desk, or

goddammit goddammit so many regrets]

...Ah... okay, so... video games, do you know what those are...?
huaaaaagh: (I just miss asuna's cooking)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-05 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Okay, okay. All he has to do now is not sleep, then...!]

Yes, and no. Videos are just visual stuff, you can't interact with them- you can only watch. But games... actually, the comm has a couple now, I think. Remember that list I showed you, of all the stuff that's on the network?
huaaaaagh: <user name=fontech> (better yet teriyaki burgers)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-06 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, exactly. With video games, it's more like... you get to direct what happens in the movie you watch. You play through the story, controlling the main character. It's meant to be more interactive.
huaaaaagh: (well okay maybe food too)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-07 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes. It really depends on the game. A lot of them just let you guide the character through the story. Some games don't have story at all, you just play them.

It's probably easier to show you, hang on.

[Gonna fiddle with the comm... he's pretty sure he saw a few crappy retro games on there.]
huaaaaagh: <user name=fontech> (but we all know how that would go)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-08 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[what a terrible influence he is

Flappy Marsiva is the first one that pops up on the list, so Kirito loads that one up and tilts it so Sascha can see.]

Okay, this is a video game. It's not a very good one, but you can get the gist of it. If this was a movie, you'd just watch it, yeah? But instead, you have to interact. By tapping the screen-

[Look, look how it bounces around the obstacles!

Look how it crashes horribly because this game is terrible!]
huaaaaagh: <user name=aicons> (my wife makes the best food ever)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-09 11:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Introducing someone new to video games is one of life's greatest delights.]

Yeah, it did. It'll do that every time the screen gets tapped. Want to try?
huaaaaagh: (fine then. let's do it!)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-09 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[unless your children live in the video games, and then you can multitask.]

Yeah, exactly. Go for it.

[He offers the comm out. Go on, buddy, get addicted.]
huaaaaagh: <user name=headset> (what? help? I can chop veggies...)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-10 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[don't give him any ideas.]

Try hitting it just before you want it to jump. There's a bit of an input lag. It takes some time to figure out the timing, believe me.
huaaaaagh: <user name=fontech> (it just means i love the food)

[personal profile] huaaaaagh 2016-06-11 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It's basically the difference in time between when you touch the screen and when the game reacts. Almost all games have it, and minimizing the lag is an important part of development.

[You want boring dev talk while you play, right?]
