4th Blight - video
Who: Riona and YOU! (and no she's not drunk this time)
Broadcast: Yes
Action: On Blue Fish
When: Today!
Note: Somewhat NSFW link in the post. Nothing graphic or trigger-y!
[The cargo bay of the Blue Fish finds itself a bit less empty than usual. The video opens up on gift baskets covering sections of the floor in the bay. Each one has a little tag attached to it, indicating the intended recipient(s) of the basket. The wrapping on top of each basket are a solid color, hiding what’s inside.
The camera jostles as its owner kneels down next to one.]
Not quite what I expected to come down to this morning.
[Riona remains off-screen, save for her hand, which opens up the tag. Her name is written on it, with a little note reading: “To help you unwind.”]
So. Atroma – I’m assuming – has left some of us with gifts. Given the sheer number in here, and that I don’t recognize the names on some of the baskets down here, it appears these are also for people on other ships. I’m on the Blue Fish, if anyone wants to stop by and see if they received one of these baskets.
[ She sets the camera down, propping it up. The new view provides the chance to see Riona tearing into the paper covering her basket.]
I don’t know what is inside, to be honest. I’m not exactly sure what they mean by helping me “unwind”. Let’s find out, shall we?
[ As she reaches in and begins to pull out something, suddenly there’s a vibration ringing out from inside. The young Warden frowns, the book she had grabbed onto halfway out of the basket.]
Not sure if I want to know what that sound is. Let’s see what this book-
[If one has a watchful eye, they may catch a quick glimpse of the book cover***. At least until Riona gets a good look at it, blushes and sputters, and immediately slams it to the ground.]
Maker’s ball, why would they-
[There’s a curse as she remembers the camera is on and her hand quickly covers the lens before the communicator is shut off.]
((OOC: sponsor drop is open to all! Yhe theme is sex toys, books, etc. the gift baskets can be for individuals or for couples. The Blue Fish no longer has the locks on, so characters can wander freely inside again.
***EDIT: damn it, DW. book cover is this: https://i.imgur.com/Ie3Ocnp.jpg))

action
An extraordinary guide. Well!
action
I - well - [FOR FUCK'S SAKE] Why Atroma would send that, I haven't the slightest idea. I certainly never asked.
action
I know you didn't. We never ask for these drops - ever wonder why this ship has an absurdly large supply of shampoo for redheads? I certainly wasn't asking for all of that. But!
[She hands the book back to Riona.]
Doesn't mean I'm not going to take advantage of it.
action
[That's a small mystery explained.
She gingerly accepts the book, taking the chance to actually really look at it. Her cheeks heat again.]
Just seems a little wasted on me. I have no partner, and I... have long since known how to, ah, take care of myself.
action
Doesn't mean you can't discover something new that you like.
[Like that mysterious vibrating thing in that box over there.]
action
[Of course, she's heard of people using other implements, but most of what she's heard has deterred her. Sticking things ... up there... really doesn't quantify a good time for her. Of course, most people in her world stick wood and other objects that really aren't safe.]
action; I"M SORRY SHE"S LIKE THIS
There are a great many things that can be done with fingers... But they aren't the only tool you have at your disposal you know.
no ur not
[Are they - yep, they're going to talk about this. Maker preserve her.]
I don't ascribe to some of the... practices others use.
[Zevran regaled her with some stories from his formative years growing up in the whorehouse. She's heard the kind of shit people do.]
no subject
Well then, you might want to turn the vibrator off.
no subject
Is that what-?
[After a moment of rummaging through the bag, she pulls out the offending thing.]
What in - how do you -
[WHY DOES IT KEEP VIBRATING HOW DO YOU TURN IT OFF???
In true pre-technological era fashion, when she can't figure out how to get it to stop, she whacks it against the ground a few times.]
no subject
Riona! No - here, I'll turn it off!

The switch is here... [She points it out to Riona.] and it looks like it was on the highest setting, which is why it was making so much noise. If you change your mind and decide you want to give it a try after all, I would suggest starting at a lower setting to begin with, until you're used to the sensation.
[So matter-of-fact. She holds the vibrator out for Riona to take back.]
1/2
[Er, come again?]
Try it out? On... what...
[Give her a moment Bev.]
2/2
...
.....oh holy Andraste.]
I'm supposed to - against there?
no subject
[Riona still hasn't taken it from her, so she gently sets the vibrator back in its basket.]
I admit it probably sounds...odd, but I promise, it's not dangerous or harmful. And you by no means are obligated to use it, I just want you to know you can come to me with any questions and know that I'm certainly not going to be judging for whatever you decide to do.
no subject
I..., er thank... you.
[Honestly, she's not sure what's worse: the thought that someone invented this and believed it was a good idea, or that she's actually curious enough to try.]
no subject
[It really was meant affectionately. Plus, better to find the humor in this than to get angry about it.]
no subject
It's all right. Your teasing is rather tame compared to what I'm used to. But I am not familiar with things like this [She gestures to the vibrator.] and it caught me off guard. Maker, it's felt like ages since I was that flustered about... things regarding intimacy.

[She grins.]
I rather shocked poor Sokka and Allen with some of my choices in reading materials once.
no subject
[Nobles, man.]
I have a friend who grew up in another kingdom. When he came to Ferelden, he found it rather humorous - if not a little sad - how much we avoid the subject. [A laugh.] A lot of what I do know has come from him, for better or wose.
[Her smile turns mischievous.]
Was it perhaps a novel of some sort? A naughty one, I'd assume.
no subject
[Then she laughs.]
Oh but of course! It really was a very mild sort of thing though.
[Hands on her hips.]
Sokka was very insistent that I was too old for it.
no subject
[She raised her brow.]
Too old? What, once a woman reaches a certain age, she is to be a withered old crone with no desire or romantic ideas?
