something is going on with the augments. crackling noise? potential malfunction not sure what's being effected right now but it's really annoying unknown if harmful but causing problems with behaviora

[the text just stops there. the video turns on!]

[there's a really scary-looking guy in a full face of skull makeup looking down at the controls--oh, wait, no. he's gone. the video turns off. the voice clicks on.]

[the voice clicks off. the text resumes.]

I missed your arrival

Well, I didn't announce it. Atroma recorded me doing some thinking though on the Marsiva and broadcasted the video.

I've been keeping a low profile besides that.

[ He just... asked her how she is... This is obviously a shock to her and for a moment, she seems unsure how to respond to that. She's pretty sure he would normally never ask or admit so openly that he doesn't know how to do something. Is this what he meant about "compulsions"? ]

[he responds a little bit later... which... meant he might have really been done with that previous conversation. now that he's picking it back up:]

[ She still smiles, but: ]

[ She gives a noncommittal shrug of one shoulder, her smile beginning to fade. ]

I can't remember where I was when I was gone. I just remember going to sleep there and waking up on the Marsiva in my home clothing. I don't like thinking about it.

[ She hesitates, then adds: ]

You took me by surprise. It cheered me up. My thanks.

[ It looks like the surprises just keep coming with Zhas and this compulsion problem of his. That is an extremely uncharacteristic thing for him to say and it's obvious she wasn't expecting anything close to that. She clears her throat a little anxiously and tried to suppress the sudden heat she can feel rising in her cheeks. ]

That's not true! I think you want people to think so— maybe even you want to think so. But I don't think you're empty, Zhas. I think it's hard for you to not be.

I just... didn't think you'd feel that way about women, much less about a woman like me. It's rather... gallant of you.

[ Or maybe she just didn't want to think he really meant that, because it's much less mind-blowing that way. Regardless, she gives him a wry smile. ]

It's not as though I'm a dainty princess, after all. I mostly just have that infuriating habit of annoying you, that sometimes you like to get into physical fights with.
