[Video starts with... that sure is Loki. But there's something subtly weird about his expression. There's nothing guarded or calculated about it, a slight relaxation of ever-present tension that was never apparent before, perhaps. The best poker face in all Nine Realms is nowhere to be seen. If anything, he looks upset. Confused, worried, a bit scared. And he's out in the forest on the toxic moon, which is just great, let him tell you. No mask, but he's never needed one before, not that he's aware of that, or of the fact that most people have to wear them.]

Hello? Yes, this seems to be working. What a curious device. [Anyway. The point.]

I seem to be lost. Very lost. Where is this?

[A view of the forest, brief but steady.]

And--[Careful breath.]--who am I?

[Lucky Loki, his augment has glitched and while he remembers how to do things--and the occasional esoteric fact--he has no idea who he is. Good news--or bad news depending on your opinion of his usual space asshole personality--he'll get over it in about a week.

Even if no one comes find him, he'll make his way back to civilization eventually and be very confused about life and where he's even supposed to be. Good thing he's practically indestructible. But eventually, he will be around on the Paisley, and on the Iskaulit, poking about.]

[ Paisley isn't exactly bustling with activity when he finds Loki wondering about. They're on the same ship, it's not unusual. What's unusual is that he's ...poking around the kitchen like he's new here. Anakin raise a brow and follows his movements for a second.

Then he points to where James' stash of tea is. ]

The tea's over there.

[Startled, he looks up.]

Tea? [He wasn't looking for tea specifically, but okay. He grabs that and looks at it a bit uncomprehendingly.]

Do I like tea?

[...at some point he ought to ask this helpful fellow who he is, but he's a bit too lost at the moment.]

Oh.

[ A beat. He narrows his eyes slightly. Confusion everywhere ]

I thought you did...?

[Well, this is awkward. Another look at the container of tea, then at Anakin. The two are equally unfamiliar. But hey, if this guy knows he likes tea, then it's logical that...]

...so we know each other?

[ A wry laugh ]

We live together but I don't know about knowing each other. It's not like we sit and chat. [ A beat ] You called me a mortal once.

... Are you okay?

[Mortal? What does that imply?] Isn't everyone mortal?

[He looks at the tea again.]

I... don't think that I am. I've no idea who you are. Or who I am.

No, there's a few that doesn't fit that category. At least that's what they claim-- you claimed.

[ He gives Loki a wry look, unsure how serious this is. Then again, given the round of weirdness lately, he shouldn't be surprised, really ]

I'm Anakin - I'm the pilot for Paisley, the ship we're on. And the crew list says you're Loki. You do.... I don't know, something on the ship.

Oh. [That's interesting. He'll add that to the pitifully small number of facts in regards to himself he can call his own.]

Loki. [Just trying the name on for size. He doesn't feel one way or the other about it. But he frowns at the statement that Anakin doesn't even know what he does. That's not helpful. Still, he says:] It is nice to meet you, Anakin.

If for the second time?

[ He's skeptical. This is a complete opposite of their first meeting. But there's no point in it, so he lets it go. ]

Look, there's something going on right now and I think you've been affected. Atroma's trying to make things interesting.

[ He touches his own neck, the spot where the augment might be. ]

There's a chip in you. That's probably what's messing with your.... [ A beat ] Memories.

Atroma. [Another random name.

He mirrors Anakin's movement, poking at the back of his own neck.] Oh, so that isn't supposed to be there?

[Huh. He might be more worried, but on top of everything else it's one more little thing.] Is there a way to fix it, then?

Atroma - the big man controlling this place.

[ He shrugs. Totally unhelpful in this case ]

I don't know. Maybe if we knew had more information about the chips. But as far as we know, there isn't much about how the chips work. Every time anyone tries to remove it or take a closer look at it, Atroma has a way of knowing and immediately puts a stop to that.

Oh my. Is he some sort of giant? [Giants are a thing, right? He has some recollection that they do exist, even if he's not sure why he would know such a thing.]

Hm. That's not very helpful. How does he stop you?

I didn't mean that literally.

[ He rubs the back of his neck, recalling the incident with his -- with Leia before she left ]

Someone did a whole study on it. From their report, it seems that you blackout and/or lash out at anyone near you if you try to remove it. It's not a good idea and I wouldn't try that to fix your memory problems.

Oh.

[Good to know, really.]

I certainly do not want to hurt anyone. [He's pretty sure he doesn't. They've all been very friendly, he thinks. Not that there's been a lot of chances for comparison.] So I suppose I must... wait.

[ He doesn't do well with waiting. Even if he and Loki had sparse exchange, it's instinct that he tries to help. ]

Tell me what you do remember, maybe it'll jog some memory.

Nothing, really. Well, I recall how to walk, obviously. Things of that nature. I seem to recall other skills such as mathematics. And I've some sort of power I might use.

But nothing... personal.

[ He folds his arms and thinks. ]

... You remember your name. Do you know what Loki means?

I've been told my name. And told that it comes from the word to break. [Shrug.]

[ A cringe. ] That's a..... name.

I don't know who you would have been close with or I could lead you to them. Frankly, I don't know much about you.

You can do a type of ...telekinesis. [ And called him some names while doing it. He takes a cup. ] Here, try to take it from my hand.

He said that to break things need not be bad, always. Some things must be broken so new things can happen. [Hey, he's trying to be positive, he found it rather alarming, himself.]

Do you suppose that means I have no friends? That seems... sad. [He's really liked talking to everyone he has so far.]

[He frowns at the cup. He remembers simple things like how to walk, of course. And he can feel things, various energies, though he isn't certain if that's unusual as such--though from what his maroon friend said, it might be. But he recalls how he was able to manipulate the world a bit when getting out of the woods, and this can't be so different. He leans into the energies, and tries to draw the cup to him. He is stronger than a cup, right?

The cup wobbles, twitches as he tries various ideas on how to grasp it. Then it springs to his hand, fast enough that he almost drops it rather than catches it.

He grins.] Like so?

[ He can feel it wobble in his hand and for a moment, he wasn't sure if this was going to be a mistake. But he wouldn't have lasted so long if he didn't have that conviction in him. Anakin grins in return, he rests his hands on his hips and nods. ]

There you go! Just like that. Not bad for someone who barely remembers his own name, huh.

[ Reaching out with a hand, he pulls the cup back into his hand. ]

Want to try again? Maybe it'll jog a memory of how you learned to do this. You must have practiced for hours before.

[Yay, his new friend Anakin is happy about something, so that seems good.] Energies are far easier to grasp than memories, perhaps. They are right there, all around.

[Okay, this could be a fun game.]

All right. I suppose I must have if one is not born knowing these things. [He can feel it, which makes it easier. More sophisticated magic isn't something he knows how to do, but this? It's grasping at something he can see. And it feels good to be able to do something. He pulls at cup again, steadier this time.]

[ He watches the cup intently for a moment and focus his own to take it back. His hand drops and he only uses what Loki said, thinking of the act as energies rather than any physical manipulation. ]

You might not be born knowing it but you must've learned it when you were a youngling. [ It's the only explanation for it to be as ingrained as speech and mathematics ]

[He lets the cup go back without fighting, fascinated. He's more intent on trying to understand what Anakin is doing, though he's fumbling a bit in his observation.]

You are very good at that as well! [We'll go ahead and assume this is a fairly common thing, right? Who knows!]

It was important training. I had years of practice when I was young. [ He chuckled. ] After solids, we move on to moving liquids then gases... It's fun. Well, it's fun if you're good at it.
