A lot happens - at least in my world. Not all of it good, but we get to a pretty amazing spot by my era.

That's always the goal. I have another friend here who's just from a few years in my future, but things are pretty bleak for his world.

It was... bad for a little bit. Really bad. But we got through it and our world is better, stronger than ever before. It's sad we had to go through what we did to achieve it, though.

I think bad things are going to happen sometimes, but it's how we respond that is important. I'm glad your world was able to become stronger as a result.

I think it's helped that First Contact was made too, that we learned we really weren't alone in the universe, and now we're exposed to many more cultures and species. It makes the problems we had seem so petty and small by comparison.

Oh? What was that like for you?

I wasn't there for First Contact. That was in 2063, so just under two hundred years ago for me.

Well, I guess that's how we know for sure we're not from the same timeline.

You're only from the early 2000s, aren't you? Maybe it'll happen by then.

Does First Contact refer to something specific besides general alien contact?

It's the first time Humans and Vulcans interacted, but Vulcans were the first aliens to contact us. So First Contact with capitals refers to that, and first contact in general means any time we encounter a new planet and alien species.

I'm just saying, the first-time-contacting-earth ship has sailed.

The Kryptonian maximum security prison was called Fort Rozz, and it stayed in the Phantom Zone, which is that pocket of space that isn't affected by time. My parents sent my pod maybe a little too close to the end... the explosion from Krypton knocked my pod off course and into the Phantom Zone. The same thing that allowed me to exit it brought Fort Rozz along with me, and it crashed in the California desert.
