He has no idea what the views on magic are in the fleet. Would no one care - a strange notion considering where he'd come from - or is there some force of Templars here too that would pounce and drag him away at the first sign of a spell. Better to just sit about and get to know his crewmates until something really forces his hand.]
Hello!
[Adalwolfe waves cheerily to the severe looking woman, swinging himself easily onto a crate as a nonverbal cue that he intends to watch.]
I'm Adalwolfe, new communications officer.
[He looks at her expectantly, waiting for her end of the greeting.]
Action
[She's lightened up a bit since she's been here, and while recent events have her on edge, she's not quite as severe as she looks. For one, she's come to this session without her scrapmetal prosthetic, so that's a tip in the tame direction. IT's also a subtle note that this is for basics; it's not for testing one's extent or overtly overpowering others; it's a workout, a stress relief, and time to get to know others and hone fighting skills without serious harm.]
You do much fighting, where you're from?
Action
[All too often its necessary. The Blight, being indentured to mercenaries for a year, the Deep Roads, and all the mess of Kirkwall with the Qunari, Carta, Coterie, Templars, and even dragons. He could barely go one day without feeling like he was waging a war, much less simple fighting.]
I'm just here to watch for today, I think.
Re: Action
[Furiosa's used to firearms, mostly, but she's adept with knives and isn't afraid to pick something up. She hopes her crew can be adaptive, too, but she also know she'll have to adapt around them.]
Action
[Never know when someone might disarm you. That's less of a problem for a mage than anyone else, of course, considering he could always fire off a spell regardless of if he has his staff as a focus or not, but there's always the possibility of facing a Templar or not wanting to reveal that he has magic in the first place.
Like now.]
Do you have much experience with a staff?
Action
Action
I can show you a few moves now, since no one else seems to be here yet.
[He hunts around for a moment, then comes up with two metal pipes about a 3/4 of an inch thick and as long as the average person is tall, rescued from the various supplies and other detritus of the cargo bay. He moves back over to the center of the makeshift practice ring and holds one out to her so she can grab the middle with her one hand.]
To be honest I'm not certain how to do it one handed, but I'm sure we can figure something out.
[There's nothing condescending in his statement at all, just practical. He's only ever used both hands to keep the staff spinning, balance and counterbalance.]

[There are some fumbles, though; she's used to firearms, as much as a firearm as a melee weapon.]

[Oh, he hoped so.]
Re: Network
[Does she think it'll be helpful? Yes. Does she think trying to convince Tyrion to attend will help their relationship? Nope.]
Re: Network
[See this smile, Furiosa? He's trying to charm you. Actually. Trying.]
Network
Sure. Who knows, you might learn something.
Re: Network
[He closes his book.] When are you starting?
Re: Network
[So yeah, just show up whenever.]
What didn't you like to learn?
Action
Because here is the corpse-pale lady in the kimono again with her wooden sword. She might not do much more than spar with one person, but she enjoys the fight a little too much not to attend.]
Action
[Furiosa is happy to see Makie again. She'd been a challenging sparring partner. Furiosa smiles as she approaches.] Are you back for round two?
Action
It's important to keep in shape, isn't it? [And this is the most enjoyable way.]
((ooc: that's fine! take all the time you need.))
Re: Action
It is, especially somewhere like here, where there's not much else going on.
Action
Indeed. I'm still finding things to fill my time with.
Re: Action
What else have you come up with?
Action
Beverley is teaching me how to garden. And I'm teaching one of my crew how to play the shamisen.
Action
[Max is good people. He understands survival probably better than anyone Furiosa has ever known.]
Shamisen? What's that?
Action
[She's never heard of a banjo. For all she knows, neither is familiar to Furiosa.]
