Well, Winn is a good man who has not had to do very bad things. [He looked over the chessboard.] So we shall sincerely hope he stays that way.

You don't have to convince me. I don't want that for him. I hope I don't rub off on him in the wrong ways. [There's always that low-level concern with her that she'll taint the good things she finds in her life now.]

[She looks touched at that and glances down for a moment before smiling at him.] I'm really glad I was bored enough to discuss your boots that day on the network. [Which is her kind of insulting way of saying she's glad they met and that Tyrion is in her life.]

[His smile broadens, before he clears his throat.] Yes, well, they are still excellent boots. [He looked down at the board.] Now, are we going to learn chess, or did you lure me here to not drink my wine? [He's happy to be in your life too, Kitty.]

I was kind of hoping you'd just absorb the knowledge by sitting next to me and the board. But if you insist. [She picks up the various pieces and explains their names and a little about how they function.]

My dear Kitty, I am good at a lot of things but I cannot absorb knowledge I haven't even heard of yet. [Is his dry answer, before he watches her with the pieces.

True to his word, though, he's up and playing against her twenty minutes later without any hesitation.]

[She crinkles her nose at that and raises an eyebrow.] Should I be offended or wait until you somehow make it flattering?

It is nothing insulting - I just thought you preferred moving people around as opposed to game pieces. And sacrificing yourself first. I am willing to bet you like playing with your queen.

Did you just call me manipulative and self sacrificing? What am I going to do with you? [And why did that sound vaguely dirty to her?] You'll just have to wait and see what I do with my queen.

... Well apparently I can insult and compliment at the same time. My, I am greatly more skilled than I realized. [He quirked a smirk at her.] I shall watch closely.

I don't know if I like you anymore. [She raises an eyebrow, but rest assured she still very much does like him. Even if he beats her his first time. Not that he's going to do it just yet. She's saving her pieces from their check matey fate this time around at least.]

[tallasaking]

Lies. You like me even more now. [And yes, he's grinning at her, while he looks back at the board.] I like this game. It is like cyvasse.

Don't let it go to your head just because you're right. [And he is.] When are you going to teach me cyvasse?

As soon as I make a board and some pieces. [Because come on, they don't have them here.] So perhaps a month, or two.

Because you're going to be meticulous in your craftsmanship or because it falls behind things like making arrows?

The answer to both of those is yes. [He stated simply.] I cannot make bad arrows and I cannot make a bad board.
