[He hummed for a moment, considering all that he had seen and done in the last few days.]

I have met a man who has doppleganger here - except she is a woman. So there is now a Male Hawke and a Female Hawke, and while they are different they are also the same. It's unnerving.

[ she pours water into two glasses, giving him a bit of a scolding look ]

Am I known to be prickly? I cannot imaging you ever saying anything that I would consider untoward.

[ taking a seat again, she tilts her head. ]

They are like twins of a sort, yes? quite the same but not entirely?

Every rose has thorns, Maraery - why that look alone pricks my heart, and begs me to beg your forgiveness.

[He nods his thanks, taking his water and sipping. He swallows, and nods.]

Very much like, except they are apparently the same person, except not. She is a warrior, and he some sort of ...mage. They are both outspoken, humorous, and just a little - I would say insane? Yes, insane.

Is it a new hobby? to befriend the insane?

[ though now, she is likely to try and speak to them as well, if only for how curious she is. ]

With so many lovely people already aboard the fleet?

[tallasaking]

Hardly. I've been befriending the insane since I was a boy.

[His lips twitch up.]

[ it's a playful indulgence more than anything else, she stretches to grab at the little paper flower, places it in her hair as she would a real one ]

You are altogether too charming and cunning to be insane.

[He quirked a smile at her.]

Although if you wanted to - you would be a charming ranting maid, clasping at your breast and cursing those who wronged you.

Not many have wronged me, I'd have so few to cast my curse upon.

[ perhaps the Atroma but then, that would be terribly rude, especially as she is their honored guests ]

Then I suggest you save your madness for someone who has earned it, my lady. Surely you shouldn't waste such venom on your friends.

I would only ever wish to be kind to my friends, nothing less than the most kind for they surely deserve it and have earned it.

[ her smile softens for a moment ]

That truly is what can make a difference here, is it not? good company.

You are absolutely kind, and your kindness is not only noted, but sends a glow through me.

[He smiled softly, pressing one hand to his chest.]

[ a hum of agreement and then a frown ]

It is all I wished to give to the people, as Queen. I know I would not have been allowed nor able to command great battles and wars but we have so many men who know how to fight battles and plan victories and so few who would know the craft of kindness, I find it tragic. Surely protection is as important as care.

[tallasaking]

Well, then my life is quite blessed right now.

[He gave her a thoughtful look then.]

I would not argue of it ... kindness is a blessing and not something anyone should take for granted. More importantly, it is something no one should live without. [He should know.] I could teach you about great battles, Margaery, but I think your gift is more useful.

I shall tell you a secret of battles, if you promise to keep it.

[ she is still smiling, a shade of something impish around the corners of it. it is a heavy burden, keeping a secret, especially if it is a good one and margaery tyrell does not have many, not with her future known for so many on the fleet already but she does have one. ]

It must be a very grand affair of a promise, however or I shall never tell.

[tallasaking]

Oh, Margaery, you know my weakness for secrets. And you know how much I delight keeping them from other people.

[He grins back at her, pure wickedness itself, before he solemnly crosses his hand across his heart.]

May I never have lewd thoughts again, may I never speak of the delights of the bedroom, may I never taste of even watered wine again -- if I break my word to you.

I am learning how to conduct myself in a battle, in secret. I have two very capable tutors teaching me how to wield a blade on the one hand and how to bring a man to surrender without one, too. So that I could keep myself safe if ever comes the day someone shall try to harm me. I do not have my brothers here nor my knights, after all. A woman must know her way in such arts.

[ a hum and she smiles ]

I feel it is like a dance only very deadly.

[His eyebrows raise at that particular secret - but a moment later a grin blossoms over his scarred face.] Margaery Tyrell, you are not only a woman of many talents, you're a sensible one as well.

[He chuckles.]

Jaime used to explain it the same way - which is probably why I am a horrible warrior. I have never been one for capering.

[ her shrug is almost humble. she does everything with grace, an ancient dance, the one she excels at, shy and sweet and poignant with a hint of sharpness just around the edges. there is so little here that demands unpleasantness, in this manner, she favors this odd little world, a pause from the game it is but a sweet one. ]

You must not say that, you have fought as well as any man. You are not a horrible warrior, not nearly.

[ a moment passes and she chuckles ]

Mayhaps one day I shall be as capable as Loras, he would find it charming, I trust.

[Elegant gestures were always well appreciated with elegant statements. Tyrion himself had mastered many hand movements for such a purpose.]

Perhaps not a horrible one - but certainly not graceful. I go for the kill while I have the chance.

[Tyrion was not a lion who cared to play with his food.]

I have no doubt that you could be. You are much faster than your brother, after all.

He is wonderful, is he not? Garlan is as well. Both of them gallant and brave and graceful, I know Willas would have been, as well, if it were not for his accident. You would have favored Willas, lord Tyrion, he is like you, very well-learned and clever.

[ she smiles a little ]

He might have been your favorite of Tyrells. I heard my grandmother was giving you quite the hard time before the wedding.

[ there is a giggle there. oh, she does know how difficult her grandmother can be ]

[tallasaking]

They are both quite wonderful, of that I would not deny. Much better siblings than I have.

[He smiled in turn.]

Well, I am not sure how fond I am of him .. but he is higher on the list than your grandmother. Mostly because she's absolutely frightened.

I never had many chances to speak to Ser Jaime, not truly. Your sister -

[ well there is nothing kind to say about her, is there. she seems to try and find one and settles on ]

She does love her children, doesn't she? She is a mother, if naught else.

[ a good one, perhaps not. but a mother, still. she giggles at his next words ]

She is quite a dear, really! She has a sense of humor most people do not understand. I can tell you stories - I told her to try and be gentle and yet when Sansa came to dine with her, she named my father the lord Blowfish of Highgarden.

[ she shakes her head ]

Did she insult you terribly?

You would have found Jaime charming. Most people do - except those who see him as nothing more than the Kingslayer.

[He pauses, and sighs softly.]

Being a mother seems to be the only thing Cersei has ever been good at. Or at least hasn't utterly failed at.

[His lips crimple at the corners.] Yes, that does sound like your grandmother.

[He shook his head.] No, actually. For a woman who could come up with some fairly snide insults about dwarves and Lannisters ... she saved her venom for my father and sister.
