[Wrath's very excited about having so many of her friends around. While she likes showing off the Windrose, she decided the Iskaulit would be a better place. There are plenty of spare rooms not far from the mural where she can set up temporarily, and this way she's not taking up her ship's dining area and making things difficult for her crewmates.

She's got snacks lined up--including more dried bacon kelp--and an array of good drinks. Officer Snuggles, released from his tactical fox vest, is hanging around in the hopes that some ~~sucker~~ kind stranger will feed him under the table.

A deck of cards is waiting, and she managed to find a box of game tokens that should work well during one last trip to the moon. Everything's ready.]

I haven't done that in ages. Anyway, it's a somber topic and we're here to play card games. Might as well keep the mood light.

I don't think you've ever told me to fuck off. Or did I forget? [It's possible. Very possible.]

No, not you. I did say it to a man named Logan once. I'm not a big fan of swearing.

[ He prefers not to, though he can do it with aplomb. ]

Oh. Did he deserve it?

[Hm.] Okay, if you don't like swearing you could say. Um. Knock it off? Instead. Or drop it. Yeah.

[ He smiles. He does miss Logan. ] In a way. Logan was very blunt and I wasn't very tolerant of it.

[She wrinkles her nose.] Being blunt is good. Silly.

Well, I didn't realize that at the time.

[Grin.] I'm glad you know better now! Or I guess you would be telling me to fuck off.

I would be way more polite, but essentially, yes.

[She finds this absolutely hilarious for reasons that she wouldn't be able to explain.] It's gonna happen, one of these days. And I'll like save the recording in my hard memory forever.

[Okay, why is it that funny. She rests a finger on her lips for a moment, thinking.] Maybe it's an MI thing? Like if someone calls you an asshole and tells you to fuck off. Um. It means they like you enough that you can really annoy the shit out of them, and it's funny?

[Look, Charles, there wasn't a whole lot of entertainment out there on the front lines.]

I've never thought of it that way.

[ He chuckles. ]

That would probably be it.

I wonder if it's kind of a hurfdurf-y thing maybe. [Now that she's thinking about it.] Like, instead of telling someone you like them, you just call them an asshole and annoy the shit out of them. But I think it also works better when people are shooting at you or dystropes are trying to eat your face or whatever.

Fighting is a healthy part of the relationship, so long as it doesn't get out of hand.

[ Charles and Erik fight a lot, though they've been together for a long time now. They know how to pick their battles. ]

Yeah... do you mean like friendship-relationship or like relationship-relationship? [Squint.]

[ He considers this thoughtfully. ]

It can work for both.

[She nods, giving that a moment to turn over in her brain. That makes more sense, now. Though she's pretty sure things with North had never really gone like that for her, friendly or even not so friendly arguments. It had always been more like... getting lectured because she was a fuckup. Which was fair, because she was. But, she decides, it's probably a symptom of the whole Wrath should never do relationship-relationships ever again thing.]

Do you ever call Erik an asshole?
