I think by now you've been informed of where you are - the Fleet, on the Marsiva. But if you have any further questions, I can help you with those. I know it's a lot to take in all at once.

There are different dialects of Elvish. Makalaurë is Quenya - our native tongue. Each Elf is given a mother name and a father name upon their birth. Kanafinwë is his father name and Makalaurë is his mother name.

Maglor is what his name would be in Sindarin - a second Elvish dialect.

And he has always had a beautiful voice. (Yes, there is pride.) I call him Kano. That is his family name, you could say.

Haha yes, he was trying to explain to me your naming conventions and the culture behind that when we spoke last. I found it very interesting, to say the least.

I've been hoping he would do a public performance for the Fleet sometime soon, maybe with Finrond.

It can be complicated, thus why we adopted more...modern...names. Maitimo is my Quenya name - along with Nelyafinwë. I have also earned an epessë. That is...an after-name or a nickname. Russandol.

Each name has a specific meaning that applies to the bearer.

(Sort of like inheriting titles.)

No, not unless we come up on a planet selling it, or there might some for sale on stations or planets. It just depends on where we end up next, really. And I don't know if it matters if the bass is wood or not so long as the strings are made correctly, because we have spare metal.

Strings can be made from animal gut too. (Gross.) I would set myself to the project, but he would be better suited to it.

He might have already gotten one for all I know. I haven't spoken to him in a bit - we had some situations come up and I've been busy.

I'm the current captain of the Tourist, but it's not exactly as full time a job as you might think. Otherwise, I'm an engineer on the ship, and if people need it I help fix their tech around the Fleet.

I will be part of the Security regimen, I believe. (Anyone who has the courage to face him in combat has to either be impressive or crazy.) I would be more comfortable with a sword, I admit, but I am curious about these...guns.

If you like, I can show you how to work them. The Augment you have should have given you the information, but I think it's always better to learn from someone than rely on the Augments entirely.

Not if we find the right one for you to handle. It might making aiming for you a little tougher, but with practice you'll find the way that works for you.

Do they come in different sizes?

We have a couple of models to choose from. The smallest are light weight and fairly easy to use, so I don't foresee a problem for you learning and handling them.
