[You know, Clay hadn't been expecting a day like this. All he was doing was going to the Iskaulit to do some workouts in the gym, even bopping to a tune playing in his head.

Of course, that all comes a stop when he sees the mess before he sees anyone else. Blood trailing through the hallway, like someone had been walking with it. His stomach churns a bit, and his first instinct is to flee and get someone with medical help. Like Jennifer, or Beverly, or...

But no, he's here, and he... doesn't really realize just how bad it is yet. He returns to his shuttle first to grab the first-aid box, then heads in to see who needs his help.

And upon following the trail, well... Turns out, it's a lot worse than he thought it'd be, and that instinct from before comes back full force. He's only had some lessons, he's not prepared for this level of medical trauma, he really isn't -

And that's why he'll be calling out on the comms - not video, because there are kids on the network, but it's pretty clear by the state of his shaky voice that this is definitely an emergency.]

I-I need doctors - healers, medics -

[He takes in a deep breath - ]

I need all medical personnel to the Iskaulit right now!

[Sam is mostly cleaned up, but the patches of blood linger on his clothing, and nothing is gonna mask the bruises and cuts on his face, nor the fact that his right hand is a broken mess put into a temporary sling while he works. He's currently taking pictures of everything, typing in some commentary into his device that he plans to pen down later on actual paper, just in case.

When he sees Steve in his peripheral, he doesn't stop his work, per se, but he knows enough from scanning the network; this guy knows Winter. And this guy also had spoken to him about busting into the Marsiva - among other things. He glances over, frowning. We look terrible, hey.]

The Atroma have been really active lately. Before this, too.

If this show's real, this is... probably an attempt at stirring up ratings.

[ his voice his deep and hoarse, he looks around at the bloodied mess that remained in the wake of Winter's attack. No, not Winter, the Winter Soldier as they were one but at the same time, they were two different beings, one good and protecting, the other hellbent on a mission - but which? with no HYDRA agents here, what mission had the Atroma inserted into his mind? ]

If there isn't, it might be their way of trying to turn us against each other.

[He scoffs, but there's not a lot of amusement to it.

He's battered and bruised and give no fucks.]

Except we're gonna just start hating them even more than we already do.

This kind of thing — getting into someone's head, it's not only twisted, but it's going to get them in poorer standing with all of us. [He glances at Steve, thoughtful.] You have anyone to talk to the guy? Winter? About, um. I'm guessing it's some kind of mind-control?

Something like that.

[ he can't explain about the Winter Soldier, this is not his story to tell. if Winter shall ever wish to, Steve would leave this tale to him and support him through it. If he decides not to say a thing, he will accept that, too. ]

I'll talk to Winter. I'll get him to see it's not his fault. This one is all on them.

I don't think he'll see that, not for a long time. But... It's good to try.

[He glances, just a small, unsure glance, and then clears his throat.]

... I have some experience with being out of control of your own mind and body.

Hurting people against your will.

[He shrugs.]

I'll talk to him, too. If that's alright. Figure I'd let him know he's not alone; I'm sure there's more than just me around here who could understand what he might be feeling.

If you'll ever wish to share with me - you seem in control now. If you have any experience in taking control back, it could help Winter.

[ for all how much he wants to be of us, it seems that captain America, for all his glory, just can't seem to solve this one for his best friend.

[He smiles, but it's just as much a wince.]

I don't really know if it'll help in the long run... I mean, when it comes to showing him how to fight anything. Mine was, uh, from supernatural possession. I guess... [He sighs, shrugging.] ... it was more of fighting back against the entity that's using you. Taking back control of your own mind and body from the inside.

I'm not so sure it's along those same lines for him.

Our next best guess might be the augments, it's how they channeled their control.

[ subconsciously, he reaches just beneath his left ear to the little bump where he knows his own augment lies. the potential of those things, located and altering the minds of everyone is destructive. with a malfunctioning augment, Steve himself can wreck as much havoc as Winter did. ]

I know we can't remove them, maybe we need to look for ways to disable them.

Hard to do when there's literally no safe space aboard the fleet yet. That we know of, anyway. They're probably listening to us scramble for some kind of safety area away from their eyes — the difference is... they'll probably act and scramble us when they perceive any actual threats.

[And there lies the problem. 24/7 surveillance, in all likelihood.]

I guess we'll have to get creative. Either way, I think they know what's coming.
