006 - action/voice; i came in like troy walking in with pizza

[You know, Clay hadn't been expecting a day like this. All he was doing was going to the Iskaulit to do some workouts in the gym, even bopping to a tune playing in his head.

Of course, that all comes a stop when he sees the mess before he sees anyone else. Blood trailing through the hallway, like someone had been walking with it. His stomach churns a bit, and his first instinct is to flee and get someone with medical help. Like Jennifer, or Beverly, or...

But no, he's here, and he... doesn't really realize just how bad it is yet. He returns to his shuttle first to grab the first-aid box, then heads in to see who needs his help.

And upon following the trail, well... Turns out, it's a lot worse than he thought it'd be, and that instinct from before comes back full force. He's only had some lessons, he's not prepared for this level of medical trauma, he really isn't -

And that's why he'll be calling out on the comms - not video, because there are kids on the network, but it's pretty clear by the state of his shaky voice that this is definitely an emergency.]

I-I need doctors - healers, medics -

[He takes in a deep breath - ]

I need all medical personnel to the Iskaulit right now!

_{[ He is surprised to see Winn there, but at the realization that Kitty had been caught up in this - no, no he wasn't. He turned to him, reaching up and gripping Winn's shoulders firmly to try and keep him still. Kirk wasn't panicking, but he wasn't necessarily as calm as he liked to make himself out to be. He just had more practice at keeping it under control, because he had to. Captains could not be seen to be panicking. ]}

I'm fine, Winn, I came here when Clay called for help. And I haven't seen Kitty - so either she's been moved off for treatment, or she was able to move away under her own power. Have you tried contacting her on your comm?

[ he appreciates the gesture, it helps ground him a little bit, and it's a comfort. at least jim is here, jim is ok, jim isn't lying in a pile of blood somewhere - oh god - he already lost his meals and pretty much all the liquids his body can afford to when arriving, he's pretty sure, but still he can feel the bile rising up at the thought, and swallows hard.

he nods, eyes worried and desperate. ]

She's not picking up. [ and it's not like her. it's getting impossible to hope she went home before any of this and just took a nap - kitty's the lightest sleeper he knows, always alert, aware of danger. if she's not picking up - that must mean she can't. (or, as it happens, that she's just busy treating herself and cleaning up her weaponry, that with all this noise the communicator beeping is easy to miss, and she calls him right back when she sees it.) ]

That doesn't mean she's not okay, Winn. This whole scene is kind of confusing right now. She could have lost or misplaced her comm, or she simply can't hear it. She may not be in a position to answer it right now if she's helping with the injured. But I'm sure if something was seriously wrong, someone would have come and told you. Everyone knows you're her boyfriend.

Just keep your comm on you and keep calling her. Go to her ship and check there too. Maybe she's gone back already. If she was caught up in all this, she needs you calm right now, Winn. She needs you calm and strong.

[ he nods; those are all logical good arguments. kitty can go intangible at will - she may not be invulnerable, but it's the next best thing. he doesn't think that their being together is really that common knowledge for people outside their ships, their friend groups, but still - if she's hurt someone who knows to call him has to find out, right? ]

You're right. [ but he shakes his head. if she's back on her ship, she wouldn't want him to leave all these people if he can be of any help - and he has been. granted, not a lot of it, but people who can apply pressure and run errands are also necessary. he doesn't feel calm or strong - and he definitely doesn't look it - but he still wants to do the right thing. ]

If you see her -- you'll tell me, right? Right away?

You know I will, Winn. Just have some faith, keep trying her and keeping a look out. I know all of this is a lot to take in, but it'll get sorted and you'll hear from her.

_{[ He knows it's hard, he just has more practice than most. He's proud of Winn for coming to help and he understands his worry, but panicking would do none of them any good right now. ]}

Go see if any of the medics need supplies or some help. I think it's getting close to done here, but just make sure.

[ he's miles away from calm - but he's not panicking either. that he'll reserve for when the work is done. he nods. ]

[ he wants to go for the hug, but he's covered in blood and they have more important things to do. he squeezes his shoulder again, and turns to look for someone to help. ]
