Would anybody be interested in joining an Augment Support network? Like, for people who need help getting the hang of their augment and want to ask a veteran, or for someone who learns something new and wants to share it with their peers.

I'm fine with doing the all the administrative work if anybody is interested being a mentor, or would like to be available for a help line. Or if someone would like help connecting with someone who has more expertise.

I think we all have a lot to offer each other.

Well, that's fair. I'm used to mountain air myself so this is a bit of a shock, but I'm getting used to it. And you're right, it's better than getting sea sickness all the time.

Mountains are alright I suppose, for a bracing hike at least, but if I do have to be out in nature I favor the coast. Not on ships mind you, I agree about sea sickness, but I do like to watch the waves against rocks and the birds wheeling around.

[The village he and Anders had stopped in finally had been a farming village mostly, but the ocean was less than a day away by horse and it was lovely to be able to just watch the waves...

Ohhh, I bet the shore is really nice! I've never been able to stay on an ocean shoreline for long- I crossed a bridge once that connected some islands, but didn't get to stay by the sea since I was in a hurry. How is it? Doesn't the salt in the air get irritating?

Not really. I have to give my beard a good scrub after to get all the salt out, but it smells good if you ask me.

[a beard tho...] I do have to say, your beard is very nice. Very dignified. Is it a lot of upkeep?

Not really, just a shave and a trim in the morning.

[He grins.]

Thinking of growing one? It'll make you look older.

It'll come with time. Unless you've got elven blood in you. I'm not sure they can grow beards.

I don't think I do. I'm pretty sure I'm pure human, just. Y'know. [he'll get there] So elven people can't grow beards at all?

Not that I know of. Never seen an elf with a beard.

[He cocks his head at the video for a moment, trying to imagine Sorey's youthful face with a cloud of brown beard along his jaw.]

Hm... I don't think it would look too bad on you. Definitely a short beard though.

Really? You mean something like yours?

Mmm, maybe something a little more all around for you. Along the jaw. It'll make it look stronger-cut for the hair. Not too long, though. Then I find it gets in the way, catches food. Just messy all around.

Hang on, hang on! Hang on. [disappears and then returns with a finger smeared with engine grease and paints on a beard like how he described.] Like this? Do you mean like this? You can see me right now, right...

[Oh yes he can see you, Sorey. He also now can't stop laughing for a good several minutes.]

[He takes a long breath, trying to put on a straight face again.]

Maybe you should experiment a little like that, see what style works for you.

The eyebrows summon a new round of laughter, Hawke even smacking his hand once on the console for emphasis.]

You could nest birds in a beard like that. Train them to send messages.

[Okay this is getting even more ridiculous, but Sorey's mention of seraphim raises an eyebrow.]

Oh, are you from the same world as Dezel?

Eh? [strokes chin. smears beard ridiculously] Yes, I am. We're good friends. You know him? [dezel sure gets around for a dude who complains loudly about disliking people]

I've run into him. Well, his... voice. Can you actually see him?

Yup, I can. But you'll probably be able to see him if you spend enough time around him! If you can hear his voice in person, anyway. It just takes time to develop the sense if you already have a knack for it.

Oh, good. It's a bit awkward trying to talk to a disembodied voice. I'm sort of curious what he looks like too, if he's anything like the spirits I'm used to.

Well...he's tall, wears a lot of black and this tophat thing with some medallions on it. [it's very steampunk soft grunge with a hint of retired farmer] Green hair, really sharp teeth. His facial features are surprisingly soft! But usually his hair's in the way. [SO grunge] And he has boots like a pirate.

[That's ridiculous, unless it's just a spirit thing? Maybe? Could they make bodies with weird hair colors if they wanted? He'll have to ask Cole sometime.]

Yeah that sounds nothing like spirits from my world. Mostly they're translucent and incorporeal, though I do know one who made himself a body. Only no one's quite sure how.

He hasn't told anybody? [Well, maybe it's a like a secret method or something.] All of the spirits and seraphim have corporeal bodies where I'm from. They can become incorporeal in certain situations, but they're just as physical as humans.
