[ The feed shakes for a few minutes before it centers on a young thirteen year old boy. He has the trademark padawan braid and robes as he sits on his knees in front of the camera. His expression is quiet and muted, though it seems like he hasn't had much sleep. His eyes are red-rimmed and tired. ]

Hello. If you could tell me if this ship is heading to Coruscant, I would be grateful. If not, I'd be happy to earn my way there through any duties you deem necessary.

[ He hesitates, pausing for far too long, biting on his lip. ] And if you -- you have seen Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn.

[ Action ]

[ Obi-Wan weaves himself through the ship, his shoulders hunched and his saber in a tight white-knuckled grip. Surely Qui-Gon wouldn't have left him here . . . not after coming back. Not after their discussion.

Then again, what rights did Obi-Wan even possess?

He tugs the hood over his face and keeps a wary eye on everyone who came close. This was a strange vessel and their responses got even more confusing. Best to keep to himself until he got to Coruscant. ]

[ That's such a bizarre statement. And strange, considering Obi-Wan wasn't a Jedi anymore. He's not even sure he could be one. ]

I am not a full fledged Jedi.

But you s....err. [ Right, he promised no more future-talk. Sascha shifts from one foot to the other, fidgeting. And probably not-quite facing Obi-wan properly. ]

I guess I thought you were, heh.

[ His shoulders get tighter, and Obi-Wan fixes his gaze on the floor. ]

Is there a difference between being a Jedi and not...being a full one?

The difference is where you belong . . . and where you don't.

[ He nods, with a faint wistful smile. ]

[ Sascha wishes he could see it. He's still only seeing black, and his eyes ache something fierce even behind his shades. ]

I thought I did. But that home . . . didn't want me.

[ Even with Cerasi gone, he thought at least with Nield and the others . . . but that brotherhood had been shattered by her death and all the belonging had vanished. ]

[ And while Sascha may not be able to see Obi-wan's expression, he can certainly hear the change in his tone, enough that he pauses....and then decides to sit down against the wall. A silent offer that he's welcome to come and join him if he wants. ]

And the place you wanna go to...? With the Jedi?

If they'll let me. I left the Order. People don't . . . leave that easily.

[ And why would they? With their abilities, their kinship and being raised together . . . who would want to? ]

How come you left?

There were people who needed my help. I couldn't just leave them.

[ He doesn't regret staying. In a way, the only regret he has is the outcome. ]

[ He nods, abruptly feeling more tired than ever. ]

[ Obi-Wan frowns, his good mood evaporating. ]

I'm not grumpy. You don't even know me!

Hehe, see? Grumpy! [ But he means it in a harmless fashion as he leans his head back against the cool metal of the wall, eyes closed. ]

It's okay if you are, y'know. The person I like most in the whoooole wide world is always kinda grumpy.
